breaking exclusive: ciryl gane training with #1 P4P wrestler in the world

I did see that but i dont think "he got handled" on the ground he literally blanketed him, did zero damage and attempted no submission.
Who? If you're talking about Gane, it's because he sucks. If you're talking about Frank, it's because he sucks. That's the whole point, he sucked more than someone who sucks. He doesn't have a prayer against the grapplers in the division who are now in their prime. I think he could've defended against Jones putting in some effort in his training because Jones is old and slow and not a natural HW. Reyes and Santos didn't have a problem with Jones' takedowns. Even the Corpse of Stipe avoided any damage. Gane is a great striker who wants to go far in mma just with his striking. It's not going to work and starting now is probably too little too late.

Strikers can certainly learn good takedown defense even late in their careers (as we've seen with Poatan, but the the problem is it ends up completely shutting down a huge portion of their striking game because it wasn't built concurrently.

It's an unfortunate psychological handicap of learning defensive tools late in the game - your mind modulates between attacking and defending instead of integrating the two into a true "flow-state" where one compliments the other simultaneously.

Let's put it this way, in the Cain/JDS/Overeem era, he would maybe be a fringe top 10.

Dude. Nice try, It's fucking bad. After being gifted all strikers, he got handled on the ground by bjj no-belt Francis Ngannou who was injured and he got destroyed on the ground by an old and slow Jon Jones in just a few seconds. Has he fought Curtis Blaydes, has he fought Jailton Almeida, has he fought Tom Aspinall? What do you honestly think would happen if he did?
I want those fights, that's on the UFC. Fact is he was pretty badly injured against Volkov and held his own enough to win a fight on the ground in a robbery. Had more control time than Volkov 2 out of 3 rounds. So I just don't hear how trash Volkov's TDD is when old Roy Nelson could hold him down.

Roy Nelson is bjj black belt

Everybody always said Roy Nelson was a wizard on the ground. All we got was an overhand.
He put Kimbo Slice in a crucifix, not sure how hard that is, he stood up with Ben Rothwell the whole time in a loss, from what I remember, but he could have thought he was winning, I thought he won that fight.

Gane is the worst fighter to be ranked top 5 that I can remember. He needs to go back to playing soccer on a console
You're a loser. Gane is a special talent. To be so good with so little training. Looooser. Hater.

Gabe almost beat Francis. He regularing styles on the rest of the division. Natural born athlete.

He just can't wrestle.

Injury fucks up Sadulaev’s match against him and forces him to give up the remaining matches in the event. Aaand suddenly he’s not p4p anymore? And now these visa issues making it worse.

that's not Yui Susaki

She is not even the best of females in freestyle at her own weight class. Did you miss the last olympics?
She is damn good, but fans hyping her like she is the second coming of Kaori Icho.

That's not Cody Rhodes

Good move by the UFC PR team. They got people talking about some other HW's. That Aspinall/Jones soap opera has gotten really old.
