Recently got PCS(post concussive syndrome), any advice for vitamins good for my brain? Coupled with a healthy lifestyle of course...

Fish oils have been proven to have a positive effect in reducing inflammation in the brain. It has a protective effect and is recommended in high doses immediately after a concussion.

Just took my first two 45 mins ago, about 6 weeks late I guess but better late than never.

First thought when reading your thread title was Joe Rogan

You can get MCT by eating coconut oil.

MCT oil is a bit like getting ketones to your brain without having to go into ketosis.

I had a neuro feedback doctor suggest MCT oil and it was better than the coconut oil I had been putting in my smoothies -- but I was also taking other things too.

I did the fish oil and it didn't do anything for me. One of the best things was something called lithium orotate which is a trace mineral, like sodium or magnesium. Very affordable and worked wonders on my PTSD type symptoms of my PCS.

Human studies suggest good old-fashioned creatine improves brain performance:

At least two mouse studies suggest the DHA in fish oil helps brains to recover from concussive trauma:

Rat studies suggest Acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR) helps deteriorating brains function better by increasing synaptic neurotransmission:

I think Elon Musk came out with some brain pill but I haven’t looked into it yet I keep forgetting

I'm just gonna post this here. I did a writeup with guidelines after a concussion, and in dealing with PCS, over at the standup section. It includes dietary considerations. If anybody is interested there is a short preface in part 1 of the pathyphysiology of concussions.

Interesting. This article was a very good read on lithium orotate. Does seem like it actually works for BPD, anxiety and PTSD, but there might be some side effects that you'd have to take into consideration.

I noticed improvement with as little as 5 mgs within 2-3 days. The most I used was 15 mgs to see how much better things could get and I didn't notice any difference. I used it for about 4-6 months. I doubt anyone would have any sort of side effects with those smaller amounts.
