Boxing Pay v UFC Pay

Dude get over yourself... it is ok to assume certain things when the evidence becomes overwhelming. *ucking Randy Couture had PPV points at *ucking UFC 68!! It's a matter of Public record and undeniably true... Do you think it's reasonable to assume that The Champs have at least equaled if not surpassed the arrangement listed below??

Less than 100,000 buys: No money
100,000-175,000 buys: $1.00/buy
175,000-300,000 buys: $1.50/buy
300,000-330,000 buys: $2.00/buy
Over 330,000 buys: $3.00/buy

Dude... this was UFC 68... it's public record. It happened. It's several years later. Let go and expand your paradigm. ..

There have been other contracts too since then
Also dopey can't add, it was at least $1.7m for 182, not his carrer & dopey thought NBC gives PPV points

Let it go man, it is not a fair fight :icon_lol:

This was the PPV numbers offered to Alvarez .... FN ALVAREZ
For combined Pay-Per-View Provider buys purchased within thirty (30) days of the live

event, Fighter shall receive One dollar ($1.00) for each pay-per-view buy between

200,000 buys and 400,000 buys; and Two dollars ($2.00) for each pay-per-view buy

between 400,000 buys and 600,000 buys; and Two dollars and Fifty Cents ($2.50) for

each pay-per-view buy over 600,000 buys.

*By way of example only, if such an applicable event were to generate 900,000 combined iN

DEMAND, DirecTV, and Echostar, pay-per-view buys, Fighter would receive a pay-per-view Bonus of

$1,3 50,000, which would represent $200,000 for applicable buys between 200,000 and 400,000 ($1 x

200,000 buys), $400,000 for applicable buys between 400,000 and 600,000 ($2.00 x 200,000 buys) and

$750,000 for applicable buys between 600,000 and 900,000 ($2.50 x 300,000).

Jones contract being the current top UFC guy would dwarf that

The UFC takes a much larger fraction of revenues for themselves than boxing promoters do.

This, ultimately, is what the debates are really about.

What percentage of revenue should go to the fighters?

A purely capitalistic model says whatever the promotion and fighters can haggle out for each other. Sure, you can play the monopoly card, but what about the NFL, NBA and MLB? Do they have real competition either?

shit, these PPV #s are actually decent for a guy like Alvarez

seems like UFC contracts are getting MUCH better (and not just for the champs)

an enlightening thought, especially with many former-fighters complaining UFC fighters get paid chump change, and with the business not doing the best lately (although 2015 seems off to a good start)

if other top fighters get paid like Alverez's offer, this does look like a pretty good pay-for-performance model.

i doubt that ALL top fighters get something like this, however, since Alvarez had a lot of leverage. however nice to know that those with leverage can get this.

If this is what you are going by

Jones made well more than that lol

you're comparing JJ (p4p best and most dominant champ in mma) to Broner? ROFL
JJ should be compared to mayweather. oh wait, u cant, because mayweather can spend more money in one weekend with his entourage than JJ makes per fight.

Come on man
We seen UFC contracts & how they pay main eventers with PPV bonuses.
He made easily $3m+ (at 800k buys)

In 2015, you truly cannot be thinking the AC reports are the actual full take from Zuffa?

If so please stop calling others ignorant

again, you presented nothing and had nothing to back it up lol

MMA isn't even legal in every state. Apples and oranges.

Can you believe that? MMA is so green and so young as a sport that it is banned in numerous countries and many US states. And you people are comparing it to boxing which has a rich history going back hundreds of years?

lol.

LMAO, ur playing right? Whats MMA legal or not in every state has to do with the topic and discussion? The major events for Boxing and/or MMA only happen in a few cities anyway (mostly just vegas).

Yeah, I know right. DW who came from nothing, is now over 200 mil net worth, made all his money from this "infancy sport" LOL. Gambling 7 figures and tips 6 figures at one sitting. Owns fleet of super cars and making it snow on vegas drive way. Serious, Don king and Arum can only envy UFC's revenue share and pay out structure to fighters lol.

Took King and Arum DECADES of fight promotions and fighter exploitations to even come close to DW's wealth (which he made in fraction of the time).
