Boxing gym HELP!!! Seattle,WA

Back in his heyday, Haugen was the shit...

wait, we are talking about the same Haugen who got his ass kicked by JCC sr, right?

yea, but when i say a good boxing mind, i never said talent. he had talent but not talent in the league of whitaker or chavez or even camacho really (who showed his first major signs of slipping in the loss) still a world champion caliber fighter. He blames the chavez fight on a broken heart from his wife leaving him, could be true, ive taken an asskicking when a girl broke my heart to, you dont have anything to fight with, haugen said it right a woman can bring you to your knees more than any fighter, them dingbats.

yeah, same one. i think his rep as a trainer took a hit when his son decided to do a pro fight, without any amateur experience... and got, um, beat.

he knows the sport though. I dont know how much he puts into any of it. if his son lost, apparently not much. Haugen always did have a wild streak, he seems to have calmed down a lot but hes never seemed the responsible type if you get my drift.

I thought that Brett Summers vs Greg Haugen would have been a matchup of great regional interest in the Seattle area about 25 years ago.. Both were outstanding amateurs, the same age and weight. It made sense but wait....I also thought that Mayweather vs Pacquiao made sense a few years ago and then I remember that this is boxing.

brett summers wasnt as successful in the pro ranks, i think he lost to the southern rebel guy calvin in a fight he was suppossed to win. he was a good fighter and a good amateur, I remember he had built himself a good rep in this area when he was an ammie. I think Haugen was a better pro and would have beaten him decisively. I think they were trying to set that up though.

if i were you, i would go to summers boxing. at least, you don't have to deal with seattle traffic by going north.

he just sent a kid up to nationals, and has two recent, local golden gloves champions.

Hey thanks for the help, contacted Brett today and had a chat, he seemed like a really nice person ,said i must come in next week to check out the gym and speak to him.

think geometry, and the gym will be obvious. and you can always watch the amateur fights, cheering for guys from your club is good fun.
