Hey guys, this is my first post on Sherdogg and would firstly like to introduce my self!!

Now with that aside i wanted to find out if anybody can help me find a boxing gym in Seattle.WA, i'm located up North in Mukilteo where i have only managed to find CCMA near me!
I'm fairly new in USA, have only been here for 3 months, So don't really know whats left or right of me!!

Thanks

Might get better answers in the standup technique forum.

Thanks for the reply, i'll post there as well, and the google maps doesnt help as not even half the gyms show up

Thanks a lot for the feedback!! Think i'll train at ccma for the time being, maybe make a move closer to downtown , will be hard travelling 30+ miles everyday after work

buddy, seattle has never produced a great champion, if it werent for me becoming a musician i most likely would have went elsewhere to be a boxer. that said, tacoma boxing club used to be a place where world class pros got their start in the ammies, i dont know what kind of fighters they turn out these days though. lots of boxercise gyms which drive me nuts. weve had some good fighters come from here, the aformentioned tacoma boxing club spawned rocky lockridge, sugar ray seales, ray lampkin, johnny bumphus. my first trainer started out pinklon tomas and trained fraser scott, eddie cotton was a fine lightheavyweight, ernie steele was a champion, harry kid matthews fought marciano (who actually got his start here when he was stationed in the military). john david jackson was a fairly recent champion from here. sorry to tell you, lots of better places to do it.

Thanks for the reply!! I see what you mean, i'm still trying to get settled here , i'm pretty sure at some point i'll end up in another state where boxing is more common ,only problem is time is ticking and age is going ha ha !! I'm not looking to become a pro at some point , only looking as far as winning some amateur comps and stuff(golden gloves)!! Only reason i'm boxing now is that i had a pro soccer career ruined by injuries and can't beat my legs any more, and boxing runs in my family and blood(Russians love fighting) so that's why i'm focusing on that.

someday ill start training guys like you and i swear i wont fuck guys around like every trainer ive come across does.

Its never too early to start and pass your knowledge on!! I had a look at Tacoma boxing club and it looks great only problem its 60 miles away from me so that's gone out the window!! :icon_cry2

nick jefferson from tacoma boxing club just placed 2nd at the national championships. besides him, they have two other guys on the national team. one light-heavyweight and super heavyweight.

I don't know if this gym is still operarting but it is somewhat centrally located and has a history of pro and amateur boxers training there for the past 30 years or so.

hillman city is long gone.

yeah it seems like most good places are either gone or turned into Hollywood type fitness crap!! I think !!! Even ex pros like Robert Shannon are coaching at mma gyms, that being said i think a mma/kickboxing gym is the only bet :icon_sad:

robert shannon trains tuesday and wednesday out of his garage. on thursdays he has guys spar/train at MKG, in northgate, which is more of a TMA not an MMA gym. he was at MMA gym before but the guys he trained decided to take over the boxing instruction. yikes.

oh. how about summers boxing up in arlington? that is a quality program.
