Boxing Discussion VIII

Nah nothing. Parr rightful fav, careers in opposite trajectories...

Jarvis jumping multiple weights after getting thumped by Paro is bizarre to me. Obviously Rodriguez is cannon fodder but if he lands something on a smaller guy, who knows
I agree Fenech back after parting ways because he wanted to go up...not enough time in Vegas to fix the holes that got him starched(cant just blame weight cutting imo)...yeah not for me

Murodjon Akhmadaliev KO/TKO -185?
I'll follow. Debating parlaying Price decision with Jonas decision. A sprinkle on the draw in the Rocha/Curiel fight. Great odds on Munguia by decision +400. Doubt it hits but ya never know. Don't ask me who he's fighting though lol

What's the best way to bet on Usyk?

I was thinking about a split decision prop bet or a ko in the late rounds.

Well the draw hit in the Rocha/Curiell fight so hopefully you guys got in on that. I can't believe Munguia got knocked out 6 months after giving Canelo a solid fight.

Split decision either way wouldn't be a bad idea but Fury knows he probably can't win on the cards and may come out like he did for the 2nd Wilder fight and go straight for the stoppage. He did hurt Usyk with bodyshots in the first fight but we'll see. Usyk's footwork is better than Fury's. I believe Fury needs to get him out of there or he'll inevitably gas again and leave himself open. Nothing would surprise me in this fight. I wouldn't be surprised if Fury got stopped early. I can definitely see Usyk dropping him a once or twice and winning on the cards wide. Usyk doesn't know how to lose and he's proven he has a great boxing IQ. Usyk via stoppage after putting Fury on queer street would not surprise me either.

Usyk -120 & -110
Usyk & o5.5 rounds +110

Fury going to blow his wad early trying to be aggressive, not have the cardio & either lose every round down the stretch or get stopped IMO

Where are you getting Usyk -120? That's not a 3-way line?

I am cheering for Fury but have Usyk -155 and going to get more at the current line.
I think it is a completely mispriced line. I think there is a lot of UK hope baked into that line.
I would cap it at -300 to -350 Usyk based on the first fight, that is assuming Fury really has his head in the fight. That wouldn't even include the none zero probability of a downside surprise from Fury possibly just cashing out. Not including his chin could be even worse than the last fight after taking yet another huge shot.
Would love if I am wrong though. Not an Usyk fan at all but I love betting on someone I am emotionally against.

My reason for not going heavier is I think they want a trilogy. It's already signed so close cards likely going Fury way

Fuckery aside I think Usyk is -220ish

I think you guys are over-confident on Usyk. I picked Fury points last time so I take the L but let's remember the scorecards were 115-112, 114-113, 113-114 and the guy running boxing in Saudi is a Fury fan.

In my opinion both guys are past their best. Usyk is nearly 38 which is ancient for a smaller heavyweight. I thought Fury was on his way to victory last time and then he ran out of gas, previously in his career he has shown an excellent gas tank for this size.

I don't like Fury coming in heavier but his team made the correct adjustments after the first Wilder fight and it's possible they have figured out another improved game plan here.

Usyk should be a slight favourite given he won last time and given we know he is always in top condition. But there's no way he should be -200 or -300 here.

I've taken the draw at +1700. If you really like Usyk if you take -200 on Fury not to score a knockdown then you don't have to worry about the judges.

Good points but if Fury ran out of gas last time what makes you think it wont happen again? Last fight seems to hold the most relevance on that regard. I dont see repeat happening though. Last fight was instant classic it cant go exactly the same way imo.

I have a lot of action on Tyson Fury O150.5 punches landed on PrizePicks. No actual bets, though.

I agree we might see a different fight this time, Fury coming in heavier changes the dynamic.

Fury can definitely run out of gas again but even with that happening the fight was pretty much scored 6 rounds to 6 with the knockdown deciding it with the judges. If Fury fought the same as the first fight and manages the gas tank better it looks very even.

People aren't paying enough attention to Usyk's age and the question of how many times he can go to the well. He had to dig really deep in the AJ rematch and then again in the first Fury fight when he looked in trouble at the end of I think Round 7.

This time he is a guy who has already won the unified title and made more money than he can ever have expected thanks to the Saudis. He's a warrior but father time comes for us all and it's hard to keep going to the well when you've already achieved everything you set out to achieve.
