Don't fancy anything major on Friday's card.

Just remembered watching Kennedy vs Djeko live and it was a complete robbery, fighting at home in Wales again I can see the same happening if this goes the distance, as much as I hate it there is value.

Kennedy DEC + Selby DEC @12.83

Tailing that with 0.6u @ 14.70 - > at Williamhill.

My rest of the bets for the weekend are :
3u Brook @ 2.72
2.5u Cox decision @ 4.00
2u Okolie R1 @ 1.61
2u Moreno @ 1.53
3.88u on Allen Rounds 1-6 @ 2.574
0.4u Moreno + Allen KO + Okolie R1 + Cox Dec + Brook @ 35.33

Brook is 4-1 for the KO at Paddypower.

Looks to be very good value.

As a noob to this thread, could someone explain the "u" to me. Cheers

Units. 1 unit is your standard bet so to speak, usually 1% of your bank roll. Usually you bet 1-5 units depending on how confident you are in the bet.

What do you think about the Brook fight?

Big discussion about it a few pages back in this thread buddy. :)

Confirmed my thinking - Brook is a hard, experienced, determined man with a will to win. I see lots of value.

4u on the win, 1u on the KO :)

Surprised to see so many Brook.

The best value bet on this fight is Spence UD or stoppage @ +102.

After watching some more fight tape on Spence, I'm more certain of my bet.

Brook had some early success against GGG, but once GGG closed the distance, the fight was all over.

Now, I"m not comparing Spence to GGG, but...Spence, with his inside game, and his excellent usage of body shots to complement his head hunting game will break down Brook and most likely force a stoppage in 8 or 9.

Brook is a sharp fighter but far too stationary and will be a easy target for Spence.

Spence is untested big step up for him

I think that Kell will be able to get off his punches first. Great fight.

That could end up being the case, and if it does and he stops Brook then he is legit on the world stage.

But you can easily argue the value is in backing the underdog current champ who has been in there with the far far superior opponents and has dealt with adversity in a tough, gritty fight, Carson Jones first fight for example. Spence has a win over 1 notable opponent and is in his opponents backyard, personally he doesn't hold the value in this fight; for me at least.

And that's cool

best of luck to you on your wager.

What does have me concerned is Brook's performance against Porter.

(yes, I know Porter's style is very different from SPence)

but Brook was able to effectively neutralize Porter's mauling style, keep him at bay, and get the decision.

Brook had better success than Keith Thurman

Good luck to you too.

I've seen comparisons likening Spence to a WW Gerald McClellan and can see how, albeit not as much power. If he does beat Brook he could definitely become a superstar but I think it's just too soon in his career, either way it should be a fantastic fight.

Few things...

Kell Brook looks real good in the recent training vids

If you take GGG and Porter(who IMO is overrated) Brook really hasn't been in there with elite guys. In fact it was not long ago that critics were complaining he wasn't facing great guys.

Id even say Algeri win is almost comparable to the Porter win. Keep in mind Brook beat Porter by MD.

It's also not always who u are beating but how u are. Algeri is a solid guy who went the distance with Pac. Spence absolutely annihilated him. No one has come close to doing that to Algeri. Also Bundu went the distance with Thurman. And once again was smashed by Spence. These are INCREDIBLY durable guys getting stopped.

Correct, it's not always who you are beating but Brook clearly beat Porter in my opinion; to go Stateside and do that and even be able to get the decision is impressive, he was landing plenty clean shots on GGG.

I take much more value in that than Spence' performances against Algieri and Bundu. Bundu can be tricky but he was also nearly 42 years old and managed to put up a good effort until the finish. Don't get me wrong I like Spence and think he'll be champ one day either way but nothing he has done so far is comparable to what he'll face this weekend. Brook is a completely different style, different animal.

More than anything I'm just excited to see how it unfolds and hope it lives up to the hype.
