Social Boxer Ryan Garcia goes on a super unhinged Racist Rant *Trigger Warning*

Guy’s an artist on the double end bag though.

He's a good fighter, but I feel like he's facing the notion that he isnt quite what he was hyped up to be in his early days. This was evident even as a young Pro, he sparred one of my guys (his Brother also sparred another of my guys), and he had some behaviors that, as a Coach, kind of suggested he either was under tons of pressure generally, or put himself under that kind of pressure. He was also there without a trainer, but with an entourage.

WBC banned him. Probably one of those things that can be reversed with an apology and perfunctory commitment to therapy

I dont know, I know a couple of higher-ups at the WBC. Money fixes everything, but they dont much like this kind of controversy

I mean attention spans for this sort of thing fade quickly enough these days and even unhinged he has love or hate following that generate dollars.

I don't think he wants to fight anymore though. He also actually needs help; this isn't a shtick

Ryan Garcia wants to fight MMA but no take-downs LOL... I say let him try maybe against someone like WWE Montez Ford both first time MMA fighters from different combat sports Montez has the Marine combat background and black belts so would be a good newbie match.

Black twitter big mad and making threat videos/tweets. On my feed, I have seen at least 10 random “influencers” dare him to say the hard er to them. I don’t watch boxing but I am pretty sure Garcia can take these clowns. Whether you say the n word with an er or a, it makes you a trash clown

He hasn't given a f*ck about boxing for a few years, at least.

I'll never understand these people with $50M net worths who don't just disappear and go live on a massive acreage in the south of France or some shit.

You have more money than you can even spend. Just go enjoy it.

The amount of money you have completely changes your perspective. Extremely wealthy people often fee broke because the lifestyle they feel compelled to lead is more often than not stupidly expensive and difficult to maintain.

This is especially true of athletes who came into their wealth quickly and never really learned how to manage it properly. They also often don't realize how narrow their prime earning window is and over estimate how they'll be able to maintain that lifestyle.

There are obviously people who do the intelligent thing, take their wealth and live their lives quietly and out of the public eye; we know a lot less about them because they're doing that.

You coach, Sinnie?

he said some crazy disgusting things and should get hate for it and i understand sponsors leaving and organizations having a code of conduct, but generally speaking, can we leave the purity tests out of sports? they're there to perform a task, who cares what they think? you can personally boycott and root against them for life, but they should be allowed to perform. imagine if michael jordan or usain bolt went up and said crazy stuff. imagine someone could run the 100m in 9.1 seconds but they're insufferably offensive. would you want their careers ended over that?

The guy who got banned from here for posting a really racist cartoon disagrees with athletes facing natural consequences from saying repugnant shit in public? Very interesting.

There's a thread about it in the Stand-Up section, as well as the Boxing section. I need to post in there because my team had fights this past weekend, including my Son. I have 6 competing next weekend as well. We spent our 4th yesterday sparring in preparation. I have a Norwegian Pro here for a few weeks, he's trying to relocate here mostly because he has a girlfriend who has a career here, but he's very hard-pressed to leave Norway lol

He was brought to me by another Norwegian Pro I worked with:

That music choice is his sense of humor.
