Bow out gracefully Joe

IMO you care way too much about lack of "prep work."

Joe is a staple of the UFC. It feels weird with out him commentating. A big fight would just feel off with just boring commentators like DC and ESPECIALLY Dom.

He knows a ton about the sport. History, BJJ, past fighters, etc. And he's the only one that will say stuff the UFC would rather he didn't. He doesn't need to be a company man because he's worth over 100 million dollars

More like Joe was the reason they gave it a 2nd look and would mostly pay attention to post fight interviews or crazy moments. You're right they didn't exactly come for anything besides hanging out. My point is without a source of familiarity they really wouldn't have paid much attention to DC or Bisping as they recognized Joe Rogan. None of them turned into avid fans, but his clout just sort of justified it for them weirdly.

If they only came to hang out, then those people don't matter lol. They are never paying for anything UFC related nor will they care once they leave your house

UFC fans barely pay for anything UFC related as it is

Rogan taught me a lot back in the early days when it was just him and Goldy. But now it’s just getting embarrassing…nobody will call him out for ZERO prep work like Dom did with DC…and i get it, i’m sure he’s got way more on his plate on a day to day basis than he did 15 years ago…but dude, your just showing up and yelling random noises into the mic at this point…you’d think as much as he “constantly seeks self improvement” he’d see the writing on the wall…either be a professional and put SOME effort into your job, or bow out gracefully…he’s gonna stick around until uncle Dana leaves, just so he can say he left with White…pride goeth before the fall

…and another thing…why the 3 man commentary? Anik is the gold standard, but when have the other two, whoever they are, NOT talked over/interrupted/apologized for interrupting each other?

I like Rogan and was an early listener of his podcast but yea the commentary has gone to shit. Ever since he got more focused on podcast a few years ago his UFC commentary has declined. Then on top of that he still does alot of stand up comedy, has businesses and a family. Joe just has to much on his plate and its not surprising that the commentary is weaker now. DC is lazier with his commentary these days too.

DC is there to collect a paycheck for himself and get cozy with Dana so he's not ever going to call out Rogan either or risk causing any type of waves. But I've noticed that if the person doesn't have any clout in the company, DC will bully them accordingly though.

This creates an insufferable dynamic where Rogan is blatantly just spewing diarrhea/showing favoritism and DC is nodding along and agreeing with it. Rogan also seems to enjoy the 'lovable doofus' act DC has got going for him so he never calls out or corrects him either. So listening to the two of them is like listening to your two retarded friends on the couch just trying to be funny and commentating on the match.

If it wasn't for Anik being there I'd have to mute. Just like how brandon fitzgerald saves the day whenever they put bisping on commentary.

It's not just about knowledge or experience. It's about entertainment.

Joe Is an entertainer.

People would complain a whole lot more about the commentary down the road If it was just a bunch of analysts breaking things down and anik.

Rogan adds a level of genuine excitement and passion which you aren't getting from anyone else.

That's why he does those things.

People complain but would miss him if he ever left. I don't think his role is understood very well or respected here.

Almost everyone loves rogan in the real world when it comes to the UFC. He's synonymous with the brand.

it all just seems like Karen esque nitpicking.

This.
I barely notice commentary until they start screaming because I'm into the fight.
I swear you guys just go out of your way to be annoyed by things.

DC is the worst, Rogan close 2nd. No sound is great watching fights when they commentating

Joe as a commentator and podcaster has gone to absolute shite, truly unbearable to listen to in any capacity anymore.
This is coming from someone who grew up with and loved the Rogan/ Goldie combo era.

It’s like they both roll up from the BBQ hella baked and read the who’s on the fight card 5 minutes before air
Lately they have been the 2 most unprepared dudes on the team and that includes the other desks.
Anik basically has to babysit

I like having him to commentary, personally. To each their own.

I'm glad people have come around to see Joe for the incompetent, out of touch shithead he is. Same thing with DC, dude used to have a decent amount of goodwill but he's managed to piss away whatever pinhole of a reputation he once had. He's just a company man shill at this point and it.... is..... fucking.... insufferable.

Bellator is about to be sold so that frees up Mauro to come in. Mama Mia!!

I find it kind of interesting that they haven't tried different commenting teams. With today's technology it would be easy. Some places do it in boxing. Maybe it would cause too much drama with "the talent".

It's their job to show favoritism bud

I think that's what annoys people most about rogan.

But people don't realize he's a promoter and is given talking points by the ufc. They all are, but especially rogan.

He's always going to show favoritism to guys they're trying to build up.

Again, people don't realize his role. He's not just saying all this stuff at random.

Threads like this about Rogan, DC or whoever else is getting hate of the day are far more insufferable.
