UFC shit the bed on francis and got upset that he lost to stipe.. and tried to can him..

Then he comes back and woops him and the UFC lets him go..

Frank beat all those guys in round 1..

Then John comes in and beats stipe in round 1..

Now you have a hw division full of fighters who couldn't make it in the top 5

And Tom looks promising but his blades fight coulda gone either way..

He did this to himself. He chose to sit out and wait even though Jones said he was RETIRING BEFORE and AFTER he fought Stipe.

He was trying to egg the most accomplished fighter to NOT retire so he can attempt to ride his coat tails out the door.

Bro Jones didnt retire after the Stipe fight. He didnt lay his glowes down or vacated the belt like all the other champs did. Aspinall wanted the belt, Jones held on to the belt for 1 yr after the Stipe fight.

What did you want him to do? Defend his interim belt 10 times? Even the first Interim defense was a joke. Jones could have vacated the belt, but he held on to it as long as he could till the UFC stripped him for sh*** his pants and not fighting Aspinall.

Imagine being so afraid of someone that you vacate your champion belt just to not fight him, how sad is that…

Relatively speaking he is, but he was never a huge star outside the MMA community and at this point he's a rapidly fading one.

Of course he was his own worst enemy with his shitty life choices. He COULD have probably been a much bigger star that had crossover appeal with the world outside MMA. He sabotaged that himself.
