Is it in a bouncer's job description to act like they are bad ass mofos? Are their intimidation skills tested before they get the job?

I understand that when drunk partiers get out of line they have to put their foot down, but to act like that ALL the time is just ridiculous.

yeah i think its needed to the job, if you deal with retarded drunk pricks every single night you just have to adapt to all the shit you get from people

Once me and a buddy ran into some girls we knew outside of a club. We talked to them while they were either on the line or in the smoking area (can't remember).

What I do remember is the bouncer telling me and my buddy that we needed to get off the sidewalk if we weren't going into the club. We just ignored him until the third time I got in his face and told him that the club began once people walked through the door and that they didn't own the sidewalk. I wasn't blocking anyone or anything so I told him to fuck off.

Alot of people go over the top when they become bouncers.

But what if it's just someone's first time at the venue and they don't know their way around? Is that a reason to act like people aren't shit?

you are a bad ass bro, you flexed?

I would say most are fine but you get the guys who were obviously bully victims in school and now want to act like tough guys because they have suddenly got a slight bit of authority... It truly is pathetic.

I have some buddies that work as bouncers at some real hardcore spots, and they often try to let people who they think may cause problems not to start shit by talking or just looking at them in a certain way. I don't really mind the tough guy act because the dangerous connected ones are often the ones who are calm and relax.

I used to get a bit irritated if I was standing in line and the bouncer would let a 100 broads (a lot of schifosa's) in before the line or some punk ass buddies who think they are the shit.

It's like any group of people, there are bad eggs in there and good ones too.

They deal with intoxicated douches every night, all night. They don't really know that you're special, and won't cause shit. Their guard is up constantly, sometimes it's not exactly a safe job

Couple weeks ago a bouncer got into my face because I accidentally stepped on his shoe. Douchey? Yeah. Did I want to touch him with teh jab? Fuck yeah. But you gotta think, I'm probably the 4656765958678'th person to step on his shoe - I probably caught him at a terrible time. It's whatever

Ofc it is. They use all their time at the gym, getting tattoos, roiding up. They simply won't get employment anywhere else, and it gives them some sense of significance.
A bouncer actually beat a lithuanian guy to death here in Denmark some months ago. We really got some crazy ass cavemen as bouncers in this country. If you look up any danish club on review sites, you always see foreigners complaining about being thrown around by the bouncers.
I just did a search for a popular club nown as 'Kul

True. There's this crew in Brooklyn that has a few events and the bouncers are very nice and professional. They know how to handle bad stuff too.

I guess it depends on the company too.

How do you step on someones shoes? You have to be invading someones personal space to do that.

Bouncers being hard-asses makes them targets of every would be hard-ass in the building, especially when they're drunk.

I never had an issue with one so I wouldn't know. They always seem respectful and polite but then again I'm 47 and only 5'6" so I doubt they feel the need to act like that with me.
