Economy BOOOOM! *** 4.1% GDP!!! *** US Economy Explodes

The progress made between North and South Korea can't even be argued. People actually involved in the situation (South Korean President) have praised trump for his help in getting the two countries to where they are at. Please explain to me how this was all happening before and is completely normal?

But it’s not a partisan issue to the SK President like it is to Jack.

It’s real life for those living in SK and Japan. It’s a partisan game to someone like Jack

Except that's not what happened. One guy made a point and then the rest of you chucklefucks just went 'yeah, that sounds smart' and parroted it.

That's why you see so many lefties in so many of these types of threads just regurgitating the same talking points. It's just a herd mentality driven by facebook 'like' culture.

LOL, you are projecting your own ignorance to the other side.

Im sorry you feel stupid, but the reason it wasnt pointed out as fast as your side was spiking the ball and retweeting memes was because we though at @kpt018 explanationg in page one was enough.

It wasnt apparently.

If you read financial news you would realize that a lot of macroeconomic indicators like inflation or growth are given with a yearly rate independently of the time they are measuring.

From what I've read it would take a 0.4% yearly GDP growth for over 10 years for the growth to pay for the tax cuts. Not profit, just pay off. If the tax cuts are less effective than that, and they're projected to be, we could easily be looking at 20 or 30 years. It's not a great investment, it'll take forever to show any benefit. One quarter of good growth isn't relevant in the big picture, what matters is what happens long term.

The GOP only cares about the next election cycle.

Great news.

Now focus on cutting spending in government from top to bottom, fed to municipalities. Belt-tightening like a for-profit entity. Get rid of pensions, go to 401k match, performance reviews, cut the fat, etc.

Have to in order to pull out of this economic nose-dive of the last decade.

Agreed that it can't even be argued. On what basis would anyone say that there's been progress? And you realize that every other world leader knows how Trump operates and that he can be manipulated with flattery, right?

GDP under Obama (by year)

'09: -0.24%
'10: 2.73%
'11: 1.68%
'12: 1.28%
'13: 2.66%
'14: 2.70%
'15: 2.02%
'16: 1.84%
I feel bad for Obama, he just never could get the handle on economics. And that was with massive quantitative easing

The bill (recession and deficit) will come do just in time for a Democratic president to clean up the mess, and the Republicans will start screaming about the deficit again.
This is a massive worry of mine. Trump should be working in reducing the deficit not growing it.

Has there been a president with a better handle on economics? Maybe Clinton?

Youre a smart guy, but Obama never had any real economic policy besides the feds keep rates at near zero.
Clinton just had a great time based on the tech boom. He also let greenspan run things like the fool he was. Clinton did nothing and Obama really had nothing to offer imho.

"clearly Trump is just riding the coat tales of Obama and was set up for success. A monkey could have done it."

I can't tell you how many people were upset that Trump went to North Korea to negotiate.

thats understandable. many presidents have tried to make meeting them a gift that NK could work toward, rather than a gift handed to them. which is right or wrong? idk. but its reasonable to think that trump did it wrong.

Have you already forgotten the "he's legitimizing a dictator" and "it's all for show because nothing will happen" and "we gave them everything they wanted"?

no.

even if those positions are wrong, they are not:

1. a wish that NK would not denuclearize.
2. unreasonable opinions.

Yes, there were many, many, many people, even people here on this forum, who were very upset that steps have to actually be taken for a country like North Korea to denuke.

nah.

even you dont get it. go back to my OP. think. reading comprehension.

Obama made great Fed appointments, and the stimulus was key in turning things around. You can say that it was obviously needed, but note A) Republicans unanimously opposed it and he had to fight to get Democrats on board and B) It was particularly well-designed and well-implemented. You can also point to some smaller things. Some flaws, too, but very exceptional for a president.

To be fair, Un hasn't threatened SK, Japan or the US recently, and missile tests flying in the seas aren't happening.

But I don't think Un is smart enough to follow through with the agreement, and it'll ultimately be for nothing.

I think you're giving people too much credit. There were surely a good amount of people that had pure disdain that Trump was even meeting with Kim to talk about denuke.

right.

because a lot of people reasonably see this as BS by kim. gets his picture taken with moon and trump. uses those pictures in his domestic propaganda. promises a bunch of shit that he never actually does. like giving away his ONLY bargaining chip.

people arent unreasonable, or hating america, for question whether this is legit or not. youre confused. too much fox maybe.
