Guessing this desk is around three feet wide, maybe a little more.

Books left to right....

Mary Shelly Frankenstein, hard to believe a teenage girl wrote that classic, some consider it to be the first Sci Fi novel.
Bram Stoker Dracula, Bela Lugosi at his very best.
Frank Herbert Dune....a must read for anyone into Sci Fi, like most the time, far better than the movie.
JRR Tolkiens The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings trilogy The fantasy epic, a MUST read
HP Lovecraft The Lurking Fear, my only first edition here, nobody wrote Cosmic Doom like Lovecraft
Edgar Allan Poe Great Tales and Poems, if Lovecraft has a rival here he is.
Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan of the Apes, it started right here as far as Tarzan goes

Just think all those authors above have had movies made from their books, speaking of which....

Robert E. Howard Conan, the first of that 12 book saga

Why his Elric hasn;t been made into a movie???

Michael Moorcock Elric of Melnibone, the albino prince with his vampiiric runeblade Stormbringer, great stuff

Lord Dunsany At the Edge of the World, a collection of his stories, the fantasy genre pretty much starts with him, ya can't talk the genres without Lord Dunsany.

Weird Tales A collection of stories from that old pulp mag from the 30's.

HG Wells a collection of his best stuff. Has been called The Father of Sci Fi

All my sports and music books out in my Fortess of Solitude, as are the rest of my sci fi.fantasy stuff,

So how about you and what ya keep close?

On my desk....

A 2000ad annual.
Lego C3PO instructions.

No other books there I can think of. In the chest of drawers by the bed is another matter entirely...

Good choices of yours though.

I have most of ERB stuff but read all that a long time ago, really can't remember that one.

Have both his John Carter on Mars and his Venus series.

U deal is huge. I have a Lego Voltron. I have a couple books on chickens. About 15 to 20 maintenance manuals. 2 guides to dog breeds. And 3 classic car sports guides. I haven't read a novel in a long time.

I'm giving up my office for the new kid. Going to need to rent a safe moving hand truck if my safe is going downstairs.

Things on my desk/book case at work, not likely to be on the desk of many sherdoggers:
- the first PhD thesis in computed tomography (CT scanners)
- Barsky and Bartels splines in computer graphics course notes (UC Berkeley/Univ of Waterloo)
- Intro to MRI physics course notes (Stanford)
- LaTeX (Lamport)

Excuse me while I post about how cultured, intelligent, and we'll read I am. On a karate forum.

A karate forum with how many places to talk football, politics, pro wrestling, movies, music, well how about books.....ALSO?
