NFL Books About Sports

i over do all my interests, way too much music. way too many books.

I;m starting to realize I won't live long enought to read all those books in waiting.

Big into Sword & Sorcery/Heroic Fantasy/Cosmic Doom, yep, have it all that is important

Love the great western authors, Louis L'Amour, Zane Grey, Max Brand and Luke Short, have most their stuff.

Like Lee Childs Jack Reacher stories, have all of them with the next out later this month. Also like James Lee Burke and his detective Dave Robicheaux, have been movies about both characters,

When it comes to sports, have books about...

Tito Ortiz
Randy Courture
Jim Thorpe
Jim Brown
Bo Jackson
Fred Blassie
Marcus Dupree
Muhammad Ali
The Shiek

A great book on boxing, " The Boxing Register" a must have for anyone into boxing,

Speaking of boxing, "A Flame of Pure Fire" is a fantastic book about Jack Dempsey and his era.

Book about the origins of the NWA (rasslin')

The Heels......rasslin' villians

SI,,,,,The College Football Book

A bunch of fiction like......

North Dallas 40
The Contender
Slick
End Zone

So what sports books have you read?

Do have a ton of books about....

The Middle East
Being black in America
Music

Tons of rasslin' and Blues magazines.
If you like boxing reads, Cinderella Man and Unforgivable Blackness are both great. For football, Friday Night Lights is still unbeatable. Both mix sports with real stories behind the athletes.

Thanks for bringing those two to my attention, love boxing reads. Yep on FNL read it long ago.

Speaking of great boxing reads....A Flame of Pure Fire.....was a retirement gift from a buddy who knew my thing for boxing., great read.

Many years ago I came across The Official NFL Encyclopedia, talk about a must have, cost me a buck at a yardsale.

Well over the years I had lost it,I looked everywhere, nope.

So the wife wants me to move my TONS of rasslin' and Blues magazines so she can fit in another freezer, ok so while dealing with TONS,.......guess what I found?

Life is good, this is a must have for any serious football fan.

The book starts at the beginning 1920, which was also the first year them blues was recorded.

Some of those back in the day team names, ha~~~~

My fav....Tanowanda Kardex Lumberjacks

Would you believe.....Kansas City Cowboys?

The new/number 30 Jack Reacher novel arrives on the 11th a few days from now.

I have al the rest.

i discovered Reacher some years ago at a yarsale, an old lady (her sale)

Old lady....I bet you'd like this (handing me a book)

So I bought the 8 she had for a couple bucks, yep she was right,

One thing kinda weird is I;m a big blues fan, and so is Reacher.
