Media BMF Masvidal Complaining About Contracts he Signed

They created a belt for him and offered him a title fight..and he still whines and complains. Masvidal's stock is plummeting...

This is the thing that confuses the most with the argument over fighter pay, it's not the people at the bottom who are getting screwed the most by the UFC it's actually the stars and people at the top-- the GSP's, the Masvidals, Diaz bros, Jones', even Conor's. They're the one's who bring in the casuals that actually translate in $$ for the UFC, not the guy's at the bottom. I agree it sucks to be a pro fighter making 6k/6k when that pretty much all goes to your camp, but none of those guys are selling tickets, merchandise, or PPV's (except maybe a Sean O'Mally who I'm sure has a shitty contract from contender series). The stars in the UFC are truly the one's getting screwed and I don't understand why MMA fans have such a hard time understanding that. The UFC brand used to be enough to sell 350k PPV's no matter how shitty they were, but it's not that world anymore with the over saturation of cards. Stars sell PPV's- period, and they deserve a bigger piece of the pie.

Also it's fucking weird that you make a thread every single day complaining about Jorge or sucking the duck of Islam. Like get a fucking life Ackmed, you're a GARBAGE poster and your higher post count won't make anyone in your life or the internet like you any more.

So defend the rich and fuck the poor right? Masvidal made over a million last year against pretty shit competition aside from Till. Dana gave him sweet, easy paydays over bum Askren and gatekeeper Diaz. Now he wants more easy paydays.

Masvidal is not Jones -- who has been on top of the game for a long time.

sherdogers are so weird, they complain every day about fighters not getting paid, and when one fighter is asking to get paid more, he get blamed and insulted.

a LOT of the ones dogging a fighter for actually wanting to get what they earn are company shills.

There are tons of shills on this and every other major mma site. It's disgusting how blatant it is.

Anyone who thinks you can simply compare % of revenue paid to UFC fighters vs mainstream sports has zero clue how margins work or fixed & variable expenses.

Most expenses of the UFC are relatively fixed. If viewership were double, expenses other than fighter pay wouldn't automatically double, they'd stay close to the same. But there would be a lot more to share among fighters, raising their 18% ratio significantly.

But...NBA, NFL etc pay 50%. No shit, they are mainstream sports with much larger gross margin than the UFC.

Many of the ones hating my OP are the same who stream PPVs

Do you guys defend your employer as hard as you argue against fighters asking for what they are worth?

I dont lie about my colleagues (like Masvidal claiming it was Usman refusing the fight).

So sick of this. Its obvious UFC could not pay Jorge his asking price. Jorge is fine with that and asks for a release. It is truly unethical for a company to do this under the guise of "contract". If they dont agree on a price, let the fighter go. They'd rather pay their leeching scummy lawyers than their actual fighters.

At least the leeching scummy lawyers have got some proper education and do the work only few are able to do.

When a superstar in one of the major sports leagues signs a deal that turns out to be heavily in favor of the organization, there’s no talk about renegotiating the deal.

It’s nothing new though - we all knew Jorge is stupid.

While I agree that fighters are underpaid, Jorge needs to stop whining like a little bitch. Dude thinks he's a superstar draw or something with his average as fuck record in a career where he's fought mostly bums
