Media BMF Masvidal Complaining About Contracts he Signed

Jorge barely got himself into a position to negotiate. Guys like Nate and Connor can call their deals, Jorge isn’t there yet, he’s riding high on a 3 fight win streak. If he keeps signing contract extensions that’s on him. Most likely he gets another extension on his next fight. If they want to keep him on his Nate Diaz fight rate, I imagine that being pretty good, look at a lot of the veterans, they have huge juicy contracts like Overeem, and even mark hunt, Jorge has been decent for what? A year? A little over a year? Not enough time. The man is getting paid. They should find a number to settle on, right now isn’t really the time to put your boss over a barrel when they can’t sell live gate tickets and merchandise

He says he had to take UFC contract to get paid, but doesn't agree with the terms not allowing him to force UFC to renegotiate his purse.

Given the constant airing of his contract unhappiness, I find it hard to believe his version that it was Usman who turned down the fight with him.

Wow I guess someone forced him to sign that contact. LMFAO. Man, this guy.

"My dad left a communist regime".

Funny thing to say when complaining about fighter pay.

"It’s take it or leave it."
Thats why you leave it. This diva signed for 7 more fights according to dana, so hes screwed now. They aren't gonna just offer him more money cause he doesn't like the terms he agreed to. He can sit out and waste what little time he has left, but a year from now they wont even be offering him a title shot.

What is the complaint you signed a contract repeatedly youve basically said that you fell for it every time if they are in infact duping you
Theyre paying Masvidal fine and they arent going to be giving him single fight contracts its bad business why wouldnt they hold him down incase he starts trending in status?

Pay the fucking man. Jorge has been in the game for a long time and this is his first chance to makes some real retirement money. Don't blame him for chasing the big cheque at this point in his career. Masvidal has paid his dues and now he deserves to get paid

Does everyone actually forget the UFC is a business why would they repeatedly practise bad business, the only way to get every fighter more money is for every single fighter to boycott the UFC including fighters not in the UFC, the problem is if someone doesnt want to fight for lets say $25k someone else will and thats the simple fact

I complain about the guys who are very underpaid (some only get $12K per fight), not so much the ones who are paid well yet still complain (and publicly at that) like Jorge.

Plus in his case I find it funny because he talked so much shit about Usman supposedly refusing to fight him, and many naive sherdoggers believed it, but they're quiet now that he's repeatedly showing its himself who isnt agreeing.

This is the thing that confuses the most with the argument over fighter pay, it's not the people at the bottom who are getting screwed the most by the UFC it's actually the stars and people at the top-- the GSP's, the Masvidals, Diaz bros, Jones', even Conor's. They're the one's who bring in the casuals that actually translate in $$ for the UFC, not the guy's at the bottom. I agree it sucks to be a pro fighter making 6k/6k when that pretty much all goes to your camp, but none of those guys are selling tickets, merchandise, or PPV's (except maybe a Sean O'Mally who I'm sure has a shitty contract from contender series). The stars in the UFC are truly the one's getting screwed and I don't understand why MMA fans have such a hard time understanding that. The UFC brand used to be enough to sell 350k PPV's no matter how shitty they were, but it's not that world anymore with the over saturation of cards. Stars sell PPV's- period, and they deserve a bigger piece of the pie.

Also it's fucking weird that you make a thread every single day complaining about Jorge or sucking the duck of Islam. Like get a fucking life Ackmed, you're a GARBAGE poster and your higher post count won't make anyone in your life or the internet like you any more.

So he renegotiated his contract every single fight?

How s about you stop doing that fight out the contract and go somewhere else?
They have to offer 3 fights a year. In 2 years you will be done

If he signed a contract, shouldn't he abide to it?

I don't care if this guy doesn't fight ever again. Too much whining.

UFC fighters are estimated to be paid in the neighborhood of 18% of revenues. All other leagues pay near 50%. You can call fighters greedy if you want but what does that make the UFC that gets 82% of revenues. It doesn't help when you hear stories of DW tipping waiters more than he's paying some of his fighters. UFC has too much control over fighters with their contracts. NBA and MLB have guaranteed salaries. Fighters only get paid when they fight and UFC schedules some guys only once per year and you have guys dealing with injuries and having to pay coaches. Gotta look at the big picture.

I thought it was clear he wanted more money, put the blame on Usman saying he cant draw, well, he isnt that much of one himself either.

If he loses his next fight will he take less for the following fight. i don’t think he understands what a contract means.

I believe fighters should get paid more anyway, but he’s going about it the wrong way.
