PlayStation Bloodborne Megathread, v.4

You have to touch laurences skull to get to the forbidden woods, no? It's how you learn the password to fear the old blood.

The save where this happened I did zero skips and just played absolutely normal

deleted and reinstalled 3 times to no avail,That has apparently helped other people.

My frenzy meter is maxed.
Yeah I guess that is where you get the password from. I always skip that cutscene.

That really sucks. I was reading some old reddit threads where people had that happen and one guy deleted his game files, then reinstalled and that worked to spawn the summons. And in another thread it turned out the guy went to the wrong room in iosefka's clinic. I guess he didn't turn right when he came in through the back. But the summons was there when he went back.

Frame rate is all over the place and graphics still need some work but damn impressive for one month's progress. It looks playable already. We must have some of the smartest nerds in the world working on this.

"The sound problem in Bloodborne has been solved to a very large extent, and here, as you can see, the menu sounds, the character's own sounds, the sound of hitting, and also the enemies are all working without any problems. Every day we see a tremendous development in the emulator and the game"

Lighting remains an unsolved problem, no? I remember enviro looking like play was during a solar eclipse.

Oh yeah there are still shaders and stuff so it's not 100% ready but the game runs and people are trying to play it. But torches don't work for instance and it crashes a lot.

I'm going to wait until they iron out all the bugs and hopefully by then there are some good graphics and fps mods. People are already talking about a Cleric Beast door mod.

I can't get over how quickly things are moving.

All I ever wanted for Bloodborne is 4k and 60 fps. They can upscale textures now, looking great already! I think they can also run at much higher framerates too?

Bless the PS4's pc-like architecture!

Yeah it's insane. They couldn't even get the opening menu to run until a month ago and now new updates are being posted all day long. I watched your video yesterday. That guy is doing god's work.

Me too and I think 4k60 is what they're shooting for. This game has so much graphical detail that we can't really see yet so I'm totally hyped for the future.

This video is the best I've seen so far. Just look at the world as he runs through Yharnam.

Ultimately I hope this emulator forces sony to do something with the ip. I never believed they would release a pc port, as least not until after a remaster, but maybe this will force their hand.

That's super promising. I've been emulating games since the early 2000's, never seen so much excitement around a specific title. It's definitely going to help encourage the devs. There are so many great PS4 games that only need a 4k 60 FPS boost too. I'd love to have all my fav PS4 games with easy PC access on an SSD.

For all the remakes/remasters Sony has been doing, and the easy money on the table with Bloodborne, especially considering the success of Elden Ring and the built in rabid fanbase, it's mind boggling they haven't already touched up BB, or announced something. This should be a big wake up call!

It's crazy how many people are involved and watching closely. I just checked the shadps4 discord and they had to put it into slowmode because there are so many people frantically posting lol

One of the biggest benefits I saw mentioned was the preservation of the original game from obsolescence. Apparently you cannot buy the ps3 version of demon souls anymore, only the current gen remaster is available now.

One of the best parts of modern consoles being so PC-like is easier emulation, as we're seeing with PS4.

PS3 emu can be hit or miss, even on games that are verified to work. I was able to play Demon's Souls entirely emulated though. I imagine it will only get better over time. I really don't like what Bluepoint did with it, so I'm glad it will be preserved in its original state. When the remake comes to PC eventually, I expect modders will fix it up to be more true to the OG. Even if it doesn't, it will certainly be available via emulation and modding too.

These guys are doing the lords work!

Oro recently streamed like half the game at 1440p 60fps and it was the best looking version I've seen so far.

It only crashed a few times and there are still some graphical issues and special effects like bullets, fire and blood that don't display yet but otherwise it's shocking how good it looks and how close we are. This is really happening!

I love that the gate guy from Old Hunters goes unforgotten. He should have used all the vials he was holding for himself and walked up out of there, though:

I don't blame him after Blue Point botched so much of the tone of Demon's Souls, but a 60 FPS upgrade, with better textures and higher/ultrawide resolutions, should be easy for them to implement and make some $$

Thankfully this emulation business is kicking into high gear. Not ready for primetime yet, but it's come a long way!

Update from mb23 wanted, our newest Hunter of Hintertombs. How fares ye, madman? Where are you and what trick weapon you using at the moment?

Could someone fill me in ? Has there been a remaster ? If so which console?
