PlayStation Bloodborne Megathread, v.4

Yea I thought about buying it but with all the rumors about a sequel and a remake I've decided it might be best to wait and see. The latest rumors seem to be very reliable this time around so lets hope it turns out to be true. That will give me some extra content to play that's new that way I'm not just replaying the whole game again. I'm tempted though because it does look good.
deadshot is spot on about Old Hunters but not the worst idea, TBH, given you've already waited it out this long. I read more on the Bluepoint rumours specifically earlier today and, with grain of salt in hand, I'm thinking it might just prove true this time re: remaster + Bb2.

I like that chalice dungeons don't reset in NG+ so i'm able to farm nourishing gems for the Moonlight Sword.

Finished Bloodborne. Can't believe I actually beat this game I used to be such garbage at this game. Got all the ambilocal cords, told Gherman to fuck off and destroyed the moon.

Gherman was hard as fuck but was my favorite boss in this game. To me the boss fights with other humanoids are always the best.

I tried to Parry Gherman as I had a lot of success with that in like the first two tries but it just never got better. Hell if anything I was getting worse. My timing was shit. It was much easier for me to just stay right out of his reach and punish him for misses which was way easier. Practiced that strat and was getting better and better. Eventually I had all his movements down and he could barely touch me.

Great game and now I patiently wait for Elden Ring to get my next fix of souls games. It will be a day 1 buy without a doubt.

That's awesome.

I got to my first lantern, but its really just a respawn spot for me. Each time I die, I lose these blood echoes, whatever the fuck those are.

I literally do not know how to play, but want to.

Unfortunately, the healing system is one of the game's biggest weaknesses. It does force you to farm for vials, which can be a chore in the early game above all, since afterwards you'll be able to purchase these and gathering enough echoes is not an issue.

Just plow through, soon you'll find a few enemies that reliably drop 2 vials each back to back, which can lead to quick farming. Just remember this is only temporary, and the game really opens up when you get the mechanics down.

Out of likes...again

I loved the TLOU 1, and it's def one of the goats of storytelling in a game, right up there with Witcher 3, SOMA, and KOTOR 2. It's hard to rank them, so I just stuff them in a special category lol.

I don't think gameplay is all that important to a great story. SOMA is basically a walking Sim, but few games have left that kind of an impression on me

Dark Souls 1, 2 and BB are in that elite category for sure. DS2 has many faults, but with SOTFS, coupled with the DLC's. the lore/story is good as any any FS game, it just lacks more in the physical design at times. You're def right about being difficult to make into a movie. The games in my first paragraph are far easier to adapt.

Blade Runner 2049 is probably the closest thing we've seen to a From Soft-like big box office film. The world and gorgeous cinematography tell much of the story. It's not for everyone though, but I freaking loved it.

Man i'm right there with you. SOMA is just a walking sim, and i get so bored with that type of game, yet with SOMA i was completely immersed and transfixed by everything the game threw at me.

The one and only walking sim i've ever loved.

Holy shit. I totally forgot this game didnt come with vials. Ive been on dark souls for too long.

I dont know if i actually enjoyed dark souls 3 more or got better at it, but NG+ for bloodborne is a lot harder than ds3 NG+. Im literally flying right through....until nameless fuckhead. God damn this asshole, but i need a challenge at this point. Even switched up weapons.

Off to the DLC in NG+. Perhaps thats harder..

Hell yeah

yay..

Glitch discovered that took 2 mins off the world record

<36>

I heard about this and saw it against Daughter of Cos the other day. You glitch on Whirligig-unequip during thrust, iirc. Will watch in a moment.

Not far off finishing my Moonlight Sword playthrough. Crossed blades with Ludwig who is probably my favourite boss fight ever.

Was thinking of going back to basics in my next playthrough and using Saw Cleaver + various tools but i might try the Beasthunter Saif as it looks fucking evil.
