Crime blocking public roads is a riot, not a peaceful protest

I said this last week, that these protestors were going to wind up fucking with the wrong person one day and there could end up a mass casualty event. This is proof of that. They're lucky only one person was killed. Why do they think they can keep harassing people going about their daily lives?



See, but the Civil Rights movement actually had real, tangible goals for chance that were eventually realized. There actually was systematic racism back them. There is nothing that would stop what BLM is doing to this country. The "reform" they want is to not have cops stop people doing illegal shit. Ain't happening.

This is false. And a bullshit mischaracterization of what is being asked for.
There have been tangible goals laid out, and they haven't been addressed. Instead of wasting resources on more cops, we could have addressed this with legislation, committies, and leadership on how to best fix the issue. If you think some of those goals are to extreme, you have a discussion, debate, negotiation about them---you don't just say "you're crazy, I'm calling the national guard" if you're serious about fixing the problem.

Unless you're saying that there is no problem with the way in which policing and the criminal justice system works, then this is on leadership.
BLM, NAACP, and various other groups have come up with ideas of what they would like.
And a LEADER of any party could very easily step in, see there is an issue, and come up with a plan of their own as well.
There would be no protests if the problems were actually being addressed.
BLM started 7 years ago under a black president. They are reacting to 7 years of inaction from leadership, which has allowed extremists to infiltrate.
This happens with literally every movement.

I think the lines between constitutional protesting which used to look like picket lines outside of courthouses, and the protests of today are getting very blurry. I think that is intentional so young people today think of blocking roads and screaming at politicians in restaurants are the norm. That way things can easily escalate instead of reach resolution.

If any of you actually cared, you would go to their website and see for yourselves. A quick Google search would get you all the answers you needed to know.

How about, why are we still having to address civil rights issues in 2020? Why haven't there been any meaningful reforms on how policing works? Why does America have the highest number of incarcerated people in the world?

There is not one way to protest. And this protest doesn't have central leadership like the Civil Rights protests did.
MLK and Malcolm X didn't agree with one another. And MLK got beat and jailed for peaceful protests, and ended up getting assassinated.
I think MLK would be more concerned about the continued need for protests in 2020, and not about a blocked public road.

Blocking the roads could be solved quickly and easily, but police are afraid to use force. Blocking the roads is unlawful and should not be tolerated. Cowering to the rioters is only emboldening them.
