I know the facts of minorities killed by police may no necessarily show that 2015 and 2016 are sharp jumps up, but certainly their media coverage and impact on society is

Why is it though, that this happened during Obama's administration? Why did this not all happen during a racist Republicsn Bush regime?

If a Republican was in office, would he be currently getting a load of backlash from BLM and their supporters? Why is none of the injustice cries aimed at our current head of state for something that is clearly (to them) a nation wide problem?

Easy, cameras were nowhere near as ubiquitous 10 years ago as they are now. Nowadays practically everyone has a high resolution camera on their phone at all times, wherever they go.

People are also a lot quicker to bust them out and start filming at the slightest thing.

I think some thugs were emboldened by having Obama in office. That led to some (not all) being more confrontational with police. While saying that, there have been some wrongful deaths by police. Like that guy in NY that got strangled by a cop on the sidewalk.

What's the stats? Are they getting close to the number of whites killed by police?

I agree with this.

It doesn't help that the Obama administration empowers black criminals by calling them his son, or calling cops(in general) racist, supporting BLM and that kind of thing.

It's one thing to empower black people. That's fine. But not the violent criminal variety who met their end while asserting their aggression on law enforcers.

That's probably a big part of it. This stuff was happening all along, but now there is documented proof of it happening. Couple this with a digital media news cycle that's created a market for viral micro-tragedies, and here we are today.

We're more blacks killed by police during Obama's administration? Shouldn't we see some statistical proof that it actually happened before trying to figure out why it happened?

Obama is the most racist regime we have seen in a long long time.
But I think a lot of the reason more people are getting shot is because they re-enact other assholes not complying with orders police give them.

Democrats hold more anti-police views, the further left the media becomes the more anti-police narrative you are going to get.

"How is it that Obama gets elected as president and race relations in the USA got worse?"

why would they, do whites encounter police as much as blacks?

Just because you're just now hearing about it doesn't make it new.

Where's the stats?

Best just roll with it.

Saw this on my FB:

The violence isn't new. The cameras are.

Cameras man, like others have said.

This shit has been going on for a long time, but now the jig is up for the corrupt assholes. Time for them to put on their big boy pants and start respecting ALL people from ALL walks of life, because we are now watching you, and every move you make.

Time for the trash to be taken out.

Lately, this is the crux of all the clamoring for Common-sense Firearms Safety Legislation.

The facts show:
- The gun homicide rate between 1993 and 2010 saw a decline of 49%
- Knives are used to commit murder 5 times more often than any and all types of rifles

And yet, there is always plenty of dumb-asses in the WR who will post things like:
- "I'm a gun owner, but I can clearly see the evidence supporting restricting assault weapons."
- "I am in favor of the second amendment and I have no problem with registering my guns if it'll help lower crime."

Race relations aren't worse under Obama. Honestly I'd bet that the cops are actually far better now than any time in the past. What has changed is that some of us that were oblivious are being made aware of what the realities were due to the preponderance of cameras.

Tales of police corruption go back forever. Police being held accountable for corruption and misconduct is a novel concept.

The increased availability of cell phone cameras. It has nothing to do with Obama.
