I could go on an on about how fucked up i think this whole black friday frenzy has become, but at the core of it, i think it's truly a sad statement of the current mindset of america and i despise it. Consumer greed at it's worst. People acting like ravenous savages who normally are calm people become violent and go to great lengths just to get the "newest stuff" that advertisers convince their small minds that they just have to have.

Chime in Shermerica cause i love my country but i loathe this behavior. It truly makes me sick to my soul. Humans are better than this. Or are we?

What behavior do you loathe? I went to Walmart last year at like 10 pm on Thanksgiving for the opening of the sales and everyone was orderly with how they lined up and I saw no fights or confrontations. The walmart I go to is pretty close to the ghetto too. Only a tiny fraction of people that shop on black friday get into fights or altercations of any kind. And I bet most people shop on black friday so they can buy christmas presents for others. How horrible.

Your view of black friday is completely warped.
 
materialism isnt something new. couple that with herd mentality and voila black friday.

I like it, we drop the prices here in Canada for the weekend except we don't have people going fistacuffs and the lines aren't as big.

They're the reason why things go worse than they should be when some kind of natural disaster hits. They're exactly the same people who will loot and attack people for their stuff and generally cause mayhem.

I don't get the people who queue overnight for a new console or a new phone either. It points towards a mental illness if anything.

Black Friday is for chumps. shit deals for shit items. My wife works at Target and was telling me how people were getting upset that they ran out of Element flatscreens. WTF is Element?? Who buys this shit?

I just think if you need to go through all of that to save a bit of money for something you really don't need, you need to rethink your priorities.
 
I agree with the TS. The majority of people that take part in BF are pathetic consumer zombies and are easily manipulated morons. These stupid fucks will buy shit they don't even need just because it's 50% off. It is truly a hilarious and at the same time extremely pathetic spectacle.

The kicker is these people have no shame about their selfish, idiotic behavior and will say anything they have to to justify it.

It bottles my mind to no end.
