Don't mock me but I just learnt that basketball players wore mouthpieces. I never even considered the possibility lol. In my mind, physical contacts in BB are supposed to be so much frowned upon (from what I know)... but I guess they happen nevertheless.

Bkfc has nothing to do with sport. It is like watching animals getting killed, people getting accidents and murdered. It is only enjoyable for the sadistic people around.

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't think about elbows specifically, but I can see how/why it would happen.
My oldest memories of basketball is that game, NBA Jam, which I played on the megadrive IIRC. For some reason, I only remember I loved playing with the Knicks. With Pat Ewing. Don't remember what year it was supposed to be, around 1993 I'd say ? I actually liked the game, probably amongst the first sports games I liked (with Panza kickboxing, some karate game(IK+?), and, weirdly, an air hockey game, shufflepuck cafe. Kick off was fun too, all of those on atari ST)

Things didn't go Paige VanZant's way in her return to Bare Knuckle fighting.

Paige VanZant felt like she corrected the mistakes she made in her Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut in a losing effort to Britain Hart when she took on Rachael Ostovich in the main event of Friday's BKFC 19.

Ostovich had different things in mind. Her power and timing of VanZant's jab were too much as Ostovich won via unanimous decision (49-46, 48-47, 48-47) from the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. DAZN News scored the fight 48-47 for Ostovich. After the scorecards were read, VanZant didn't shake Ostovich's hand, stormed out of the ring, and walked down the ramp into the backstage area.

Some people don’t handle losing well. PVZ was supposed to be on the BKFC 27 card in England last August. The one with Perry/MVP. Feldman pulled the plug on that fight, a week out. And said it was because of “logistical” reasons. He says it was 100% his call. Neither fighter pulled out. He did pay PVZ, and Sigala something, but I haven’t seen a number. And he added he expected the fight to take place in the US in November.

It still hasn’t happened. I don’t know if they axed her or if she doesn’t want to do it anymore? I have no idea what’s going on. She was supposed to become the “face” of the BKFC. And was even supposed to do some commentary for them.

Her manager (Malki Kawa, iirc) announced a 4 fight contract. PVZ went 0 - 2 against Hart, and Ostovich. But in February 2022 Feldman said she’d be back to finish out her contract which still had one fight left on it. The numbers don’t match at all. So something is totally off about that whole thing.

But again.. Some people don’t handle losing well. When she bolted from the ring after the loss to Ostovich, that was a really bad look for her. The first numbers reported were $500K per fight. I’ve seen $400K mentioned more since her second fight, though.

If the BKFC is paying her $400K, and trying to make her the biggest star of the company. She needed to suck it up, and do the in-ring interview, imo. Running away was a horrible look considering everything else I’ve mentioned here.

That fight was July 2021. And neither of them have fought in the BKFC since. That’s 22 months.

Another smart marketing move by BKFC, I dont know how much they paid Conor to be there and then make this post but it was money well spent, Im sure their next PPV will be their best seller ever after this
Say what you want about the fights, I think theyre great, but you gotta admit these dudes seem to be good at the business side of building a promotion from scratch

Mike Perry is built for Bare knuckle boxing.. he'd bust Conor up. Bare knuckle boxing is more about how tough you are and genetics. Some dudes just built with denser bones, bigger hands, bigger heads etc.. You're taking damage when throwing punches. It's just a completely different art of punching.

Yeah it's not a bad shout. Overall level of talent isn't as high as UFC, shorter rounds, no kicks or grappling. All plus points. Not sure how much money he could earn though.
