It's bonkers if this was actually a result of an improper mouthpiece. Sure it's his first bareknuckle fight, but he's been in combat for like 15 years or more. He should be at least somewhat aware of what protective equipment he needs. Plus, isn't there a ref or some other AC official there to check you before you get in the ring? The whole vaseline, cup, gloves, mouth piece thing?

I got a knee to the face from this guy who was overzealously trying to sweep me from the bottom. Split my lip and luckily i didnt lose teeth but i was bleedin all over and thought i might have some damage I got hit so hard

Dude...I've seen that happen a few times! My Russian wrestling coach split his brow trying to pass someones guard and catching a knee. Also catching heels, saw a kid trying to pass and ate on to the jaw and had a molar he had work on get kicked in half.

Grappling is safe, but not really lol. Pretty sure Hendo and Cormier lost their teeth wrestling.

Loose front teeth and his lower jaw looks busted too. Doesn’t look like he lost teeth. He should be fine in 6 months.

What kind 9f mouth piece you suppose to have?

The specific feature that I would venture a guess is what could have caused Luke to get his teeth busted, is for the mouthpiece to cover and protect both the top and bottom teeth.

Perry spoke about how Luke should have had a "custom mouthpiece."

There are actually a few different designs for mouthpieces, some bigger, some smaller, some designed specifically to help protect against/reduce concussions, others that include a lip guard (which obviously wouldn't be allowed in boxing/mma).

Anyway when my coach saw it was just a split lip,and we stopped the bleeding,he told me to get back in there and make him pay lol


He gave the guy a bit of a tounge lashing tho for relying too much on brute strength (he was really strong) and not technique

I broke a tooth in a snowmobile crash as a teenager and I can barely even tell which tooth it is.

He should be fine, assuming it is just chipped/cracked/broken teeth and nothing structural in addition, like a broken jaw and broken teeth or damage to the palate or gums.

I didnt get to see tonight, but I saw a tiny clip. Rockhold just quit? I was expecting him to go out on his shield.

Got his teeth punched in basically and he immediately looked at the ref and took out his mouthpiece basically telling the ref to stop the fight. Not sure the extent of the damage. A couple screenshots out there and looks like some teeth got dented in.

One looks horribly chipped and the other looks knocked loose and lodged back. Fuck, and those are just the two front teeth but he lost bottom teeth? At least Luke has the money for implants and veneers but he's 40...kinda a brutal ending.

God forbid man. How much does it take for you and other's to realize this was about money? How thick headed can you be??? Why should he had not fought, when he said this was his biggest paycheck ever!

Dude can't take a punch and has gotten his ass kicked multiple times, most likely suffered head trauma and multiple concussions. He was doing modeling for Calvin Klein I believe, I'm sure he got paid well without getting his head knocked around.

Money is not more important than health. Luke needs to be honest with himself.
