BJJ vs karate: Jiu-Jitsu Match

Your technique is very sound, and I like the first guard pass when you stacked him, it was smooth. His reaction to the first tap was great LOL... man, we have all been there. I love BJJ.

Haha, thanks man. I skipped a step on that first guard pass but thats because I knew I would get it without getting on my toes and walking around like I would against someone with more experience. I could feel how loose he was. And yeah, he didn't see that triangle coming...they don't teach that where he comes from :P

Funny, because when I see these videos Colby posts, I know he is going to get alot of hate. Yes, he posts videos of himself grappling in his living room, bedrooms, wherever.

I'll be honest. The first time I saw it, long before I actually met the guy, I thought it was a bit unusual as well. I was like why is this guy wrasslin near a couch?

But now I admire it. His dedication to jiu jitsu is enviable. I wish I had half the drive towards my jiu jitsu that he has, I would be better than I am ten fold if I could borrow some of his enthusiasm.

So hate if you want, but atleast man up and respect his passion for it. Most do not have it.

you want me out ?get me kicked out!If you don't want to have assholes like myself posting on your thread, then don't post questionable vids. In my defense I never once called you gay. What is the point of re posting the point that I've been knocked the fuck out, have you never been k.o'd before( it's a blast you should try it) and for the last time I never once called you gay, read the post retards, as far as the parenting comment are you to thick to catch the joke, and seriously rolling in the kids room is pretty lame.

Thanks, I can't help it man. I love this shit..I always have. I wake up and think about it...I think about it all day, I talk about it on here alot, I train at my gym every chance I get and when its closed I train at my house with anyone I can. Hell..even when there is nobody to roll with I wrap my gi up around this huge heavy pillow I have and go over techniques from books or videos I have. lol I can't sleep some nights because I can't stop going over moves in my head lol I dream about it sometimes (Which reminds me..I wanted to post something about that) Trust me..If I had a place to put mats at my house..I would. In fact its something me and Brent are working on. I'm paying for 1/3 of the cost to mat his garage. But right now..I just use what I have available. I don't see what the big deal is anyway...in live situations your prolly going to have fight some one on carpet, concrete or wood near stools, beds couches, cars whatever...Its going to still need to be effective. I'm not the pussy tight that bitches about carpet burns or scrapes..never have been...prolly never will. If I don't have a problem with it...no one else should IMO.

And don't sell your self short..I know you love this shit too your just down on yourself because your injury. You'll be back full swing in no time kicking everyone's ass again.

I'm not forcing you out. I'm asking you to get the fuck out. Your the only one bitching about the room and its ridiculous an NO ONE that is on JIU-JITSU forum wants to talk about decorations. They want to talk about Jiu-jitsu. Critique my technique if you want but shut the fuck up about the room. The room is not gay..its my daughters room and its dressed accordingly. Its also the only available room I had so it was also used accordingly.
and for the last time I never once called you gay, read the post retards

I did

and the humiliation of being caught cuddling with a dude in the spare room
You know anyone else that "cuddles with a dude" besides a ***? And why the fuck would someone who actually DOES jiu-jitsu..call PRACTICING jiu-jitsu "Cuddling". Is that what YOU call it? Do you tell your mom when you leave your house "Hey mom...I'm going to Cuddling practice"?

If I did I would expect to be called a ***, and I never once question your sexuality , I just said try explaining that to the wife.*** HAHAHAHAH

I don't knwo what the *** but I assume its the word *** or something related to being homosexual. So why the fuck do you think I keep saying your insinuating that there is something gay about what I did when all you do is talk about fucking ***s all day.

as far as the parenting comment are you to thick to catch the joke,
and seriously rolling in the kids room is pretty lame

If anyone is obtuse, it is YOU trying to figure out why I was in the "lame kids" room to begin with. NECESSITY and LACK OF HOMOPHOBIA.

What is the point of re posting the point that I've been knocked the fuck out, have you never been k.o'd before

Nothing...Go FIGHT your Tae Kwon Do buddies that you can't "Wait to get on the mat with". I'll stick to rolling safely and casually with them while I teach them Jiu-Jitsu.

 again

First off I'm not homophobic, I'm Canadian, we aren't afraid of anybody, not even gay people( I had a gay roomate for 2 years so homophobia is not an issue)
You wanted to be critiqed well I watched the whole video, and I was impressed with the triangle from side mount and the variation with the arm bar aswell. I liked the gogo-plata at the end. As far as it being a safe environment to grapple in watch you head when you execute the arm bar from mount, it comes pretty close to the edge of the bed, looks pretty dangerous to me. I guess there is two types of people out there ones that like to fight an ones that don't

Thank you....welcome back to the thread lol If I offended you by calling you a homophob then I'm sorry. I tried being calm and explaining the situation. I didn't mind some mild flaming and confusion at first but once I thoroughly explain it three times it gets old. Thanks for coming around.

I thought your rolling looked quite good and technical for a new blue belt. That reverse triangle from side control was particularly impressive. I often go for it the other way, when I have a kimura grip on the opposite arm and my opponent is on his side. But it didn't occur to me to go for it from side control like that. I'll have to try it out.

hey thanks for the apology, I owe you one to, and you should ignore the last post on the worst k o ever thread , I posted it before I read this one. Keep up the enthusiastic attitude towards jits, to tell you the truth I roll anywhere I get the chance(worst place ever down town at three in the morning) that should be a thred where is the most ridiculous place you have rolled?

Lol its cool. And the most ridiculous place I rolled was at a friends house when his wife kicked us out of the living room so she could vacuum and I was in the middle of showing him something and we went out side and did it on the concrete walkway. No scratches no bumbs but it was a little out of the ordinary but still fun lol. I kinna got a one track mind sometimes and when I start something I try to finish it or it bugs me.

Thanks, glad you liked and Yeah, its money. And on a side note...if you don't get the triangle and you just trap the head, or you get it but don't get the tap. You still can kimura or americana the arm on the opposite side because you have it trapped with your right arm. If you notice I always trap the arm by puttin my hand on my head or grabbing the gi.

As far as the loose pass in the beginning is concerned i fully get why you did it that way but don't. With newer guys i do things lazy or w/out a lot of pressure too but i find it helps so much more if i really focus on my technique at those moments.
Think of it as drilling. Its a perfect chance to check your pressure, balance, etc. Even better than w/ an experienced partner. With someone good i have to worry a lot more and can't focus so much on making every detail perfect, w/ someone new i have all the time in the world. Something to think about.

Otherwise good stuff, and anyone who says they haven't rolled on the carpet at someone's house is lying :icon_chee

I really liked that triangle you got from side control in the beginning, I'm going to start using that.
