BJJ vs karate: Jiu-Jitsu Match

C-C-C-Combo breaker!

6 consecutive posts, well done

lol...I think sherdog was updating or something...when I posted it said "Not a specific thread yadda yadda alert a mod" or something.

People are bitches around here with all the complaining and gay comments. I thought the video was good, it actually gave me ideas of things to try. Videos with a vast skill difference like this one help to show off technique more.

I love making a believer out of karate guys. Some are stubborn though.

I remember I fought a karate guy at the park one time, we could strike anywhere but the face. I took him down twice and keylocked and then kneebarred him. He did hurt my hand though when I blocked a kick.

Anyway, he actually came to try out BJJ at my school afterwards, but after about a month, he quit because supposedly he "learned all he needed to know" to defend against BJJ from then on.

Kinda funny.

Thanks man..I'm glad you liked and I'm glad I gave you some ideas to try. I learn alot of stuff by watching other people roll as well. And your right..I like going against less experienced guys to practice moves I've got down in drills and not quite ready to use on the blue belts yet. On the opposite end I love going against purples or higher to practice my defense.

since this is the thread that lived I'll repost:

so i made it about 30 seconds and then stopped. Your double under is very sloppy. Try lifting his ass onto your lap, then bringing his knee to his nose, and sprawling out and walking around. Keep constant pressure on him while he's stacked and make HIM slide his legs off your head, then pass.

BTW, posting a video like this, of you abusing someone who knows nothing isn't very cool. How about a tourny match or something.

1. Yeah, your right...I was being a little lazy on some stuff because I knew he was inexperienced. I did lift his ass on my lap...I usually keep both knees under him..then I sprawl out pushing his legs up by his face and slide into side control.

As far as "Abusing"...that was the point of the video. Like most people said its fun to watch Jiu-jitsu show its dominance and it also allows you to show off more moves that are fun to watch. Besides...he is "Trained to fight". Its not my fault his training doesn't work on the ground lol. They teach grappling at his school.

But if you want a Comp video Here is a the atama open that I was in last November that I won 3rd out of 16 people. I was only a 2 or 3 stripe white belt at the time and I win via Arm Triangle at the buzzer and I think the points where like 15 to 0

(Had to use alot of the same music because stupid Youtube keeps blocking most songs I have)

HAHA sweet. I got the embedded to work again. A guy in multimedia figured it out.

why does your sig say youre a blue belt but your post says you're a white?

white belts are getting dumber and dumber everyday.

always good to hear when someone is recruited to jiu jitsu, but why in the little kids room? why not just go to your gym?

Since most of my rolling sessions(I'm one of the newer guys at my gym) are rather competitive for me, tooling a noob or watching someone tool a noob with BJJ really never gets old (in fact it always surprises me a bit)

But honestly, the title of this thread should be "Me vs Noob," which might result in less unnecessary flames

I got my blue belt two days ago smart guy. And I'm not sure what post your talking about that says I'm a white. I edited the only one that said I was a white because the very next day I got promoted.

He's already used his "Free class" at our gym. If he wants to roll there now he has to enroll. The guys house with mats that we usually roll at got destroyed by Hurricane Ike. So he said he wanted to roll with me, and I LOVE rolling so I said yeah. The only room in my house I can move stuff easily to have room is my daughters. Not a big deal to me....I would roll on pink pads in a girls gym if it meant I could practice more. I'm not homophobic, I'm not afriad I'll turn gay one day. I'm happily married with two kids...I just like grappling and I'll take it anyway I can with anybody regardless of skill from none to black belt. Any body that isn't the same just doesn't love this sport as much as me I guess.

Nice!
Now you can try sparring w him striking!

I'm a black belt in Tae Kwon Do to his Black Belt in Karate....he competed with points and I won 1st in every city and state full contact sparring growing up and then 2nd in Nationals. He wouldn't do anything standing that I don't know already the only difference is I Know Tae Kwon Do and Karate belong in Tae Kwon Do and Karate matches.
