BJJ Tattoos

looks cool but too much resemblance to ed hardy for me

This. Plus you gotta think even if something looks cool as a painting or drawing doesn't mean it is going to make a good tattoo. That picutre for example has so much going on in such little space, 10 years after you get that it will probably just look like a giant blob, unless you get it huge on your back or something.

This. A lot of people don't realize that the more detail in a tattoo the bigger it has to be.

If I was maybe at a purple belt level....i'd consider getting a BJJ tattoo...I love the sport! But getting a tattoo of BJJ would be a badge of honor and I feel by purple or brown, you've put in your dues and commitment

heres some tatts I found online that I thought was cool

This is Luke Summerfield's tattoo of Neutral Ground BJJ. He is a very nice, cool ass guy and have trained with him before. I think his tatt is awesome! It expresses a lot about his journey and his desire to pursuit the BB!

If god wanted you to have tattoos you would have been born with them.

If God wanted you to have glasses you'd be born with them too. I don't know if you do, but I'm just making a point.

I think a Psalm 144:1 tattoo would be awesome. The passage is:

"Blessed be the LORD my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle."

the octopus and the belt one look awesome.

Im gonna do something similar to the belt tattoo. Mine is just gonna be 1.5" bands around my leg though. gonna fill em in as I get the belt. Gonna use the black belt to cove a bad tattoo.

Im not realy sure how well the brown color will cover the purple. Well unless you are already a brown belt. ;)

Those are some really neat cartoons, how long do they stay on for?

It depends how much you sweat and how often do you wash yourself...
That would explain why so many of the people I know that have cartoons drawn on them are so dirty...

They don't want their cartoons to come off!! :icon_chee

Any Octopus enthusiasts that know what kind of octopus Telles has tattoed ?

My fiancee has Renzo Gracie logo in Brazilian flag colors tattooed on her stomach

I i ever get a tattoo from grappling its going to be either Judo kanji or seiryoku zenyo and jita kyoei kanji.

Both to remind me in my life to follow the principles of Judo and because they are simple tattoos and i dont like flashy stuff.

If i wanted a BJJ tatto i would go for a snapping turtle on my shoulder.
