I'd honestly believe he only had good intentions with this idea. This is what religion can do to people unfortunately. They believe in it so strongly they believe the people who don't are below them and need help and to be brought to the same side as them. religion creates a lot of really weird ideas and mindsets in really good and intelligent people. for a place like rio and many cities in brazil- i see the benefit to religion i can understand his intent. but there are better things or just more options to introduce rather then forcing one way and one idea but thats the whole gracie thing. look at how they fight. its all to use their bjj they think their bjj is the best and most superior martial art. they went around bullying others on the streets for years. There are lots of different ways to see the past. but if we are going down these paths of thinking why are we even watching fighting or supporting it. we are still to close to the stone age. to early on in technological evolution. born at a weird time. people are still racist. IQs at an all time low. it takes 100+ years for real change. we will never live long enough to see it. people have lived and died through cannabis prohibition that started on a lie for greed and for racism against mexican immigrants 80 something years later despite the access to information its still a thing. the protestors are showing change does not happen, reaction does not happen unless you force it. this is humans. we will always relive our past. always be savages. always need violence or war to create change. it is sad and hard to feel motivated. Maybe i should just be religious
