BJJ in Chicago!

aaaaaand we've once again succeeded in embarrassing our school. I'm sorry mark.
 
I thought it was awesome personally. Considering what it took to get to the finals, I thought it was pretty awesome to see these guys get to have some fun.
 
About "the fight": I was there and I was amused! Very entertaining!
 
and isn't that what bjj is all about? building community? having fun?

again, at least personally, i think that match is everything that the Chicago Brazilian Jiu Jitsu community should be about.
 
Absolutely! I thought it was two cool and unselfish guys having fun! They mad the best of it.

This saturday there will be 4 Chicago area blackbelts competing at the Michigan bjj championships. Hopefully someone gets video footage of the matches.
 
Any Chicago Black/Brown belts that charge 50 dollars or under for privates? Maybe even a successful purple belt competitor? Anyone know anyone?

As a matter of fact, I know of a 2nd stripe black belt that does. Christian Uflacker does privates for $50/hr dont know if that price is for students only though...you might need to call ahead of time. he also does 30 min privates for $30. those were the rates the last time i saw them which was about 4 months ago, not sure if they changed.
 
Ramiro does them for $80 an hour. more than $50, but in the ballpark so thought I'd let you know
 
BIG NEWS COMING!!! As in easily biggest in Midwest, snap and shoot dummies, kick boxing... I will post pictures once I get the OK because the level of awesomeness is hard to believe. It will be nothing short of a BJJ paradise.

You must know Pete. He worked his ass off for the last 2 years on this place. It has an elevated subfloor with wall to wall Zebra mats, just awesome. I will update the thread with pictures and the secret location once it opens in a couple of weeks. Hopefully you can pass by and say hi.
