Bitcoin currency of the future?

How do i research all the different coins? What are the ones recommended ?

Youtube. Subscribe to the big crypto channels and watch/learn fervently. Go on coinmarketcap and look at mid to low cap coins you find interesting and google/youtube them.

I have solar power so my electric bills are usually below 10 dollars monthly (sometimes around 2 or 3) and that’s for 3200 sqft house.

I wouldn’t just throw 10k without learning about it of course. That’s why I’m asking questions and prefaced it with I need an idiots guide. I’m literally saying I’m an idiot when it comes to crypto currency

Honestly man the profit margins are so massive in these coins it is not worth the effort setting up mining operations. Put that 10k into large, mid and small cap coins.

Agreed but keep in mind bitcoins market dominance has plummeted from 50% a month ago to 35% now. It would seem to me that the success of crypto is becoming less and less dependent on BTC although at this point it is obviously still the main player. I think 2-3 trillion is a fair and extremely conservative estimate. And STILL a metric fuck ton of money haha.

Yea, I know. Hence why Ripple launched. Still, all the BTC devs need to do is come out and say we fixed the scaling issue and now fee's are lower. It's a store of value for people who could care less about Alts. BTC is such a wild card IMO.

The plan for fixing scaling is implementing the lightning network. Am I right on that? Because that's what I keep reading.

Anyone grab any XLM/Stellar? It just shot to #6 in market cap over the last few days.

I'm a big believer in investing in what you think is a problem solving tech combining that with the hype behind it. I bought in at REQ at $.11 cents because the tech was cool and the hype train behind it was MASSIVE. Of course, the coin launched. Same with NEO, same with IOTA. Next up is VEN. I believe that coin will hit $10 soon. Use each coins Reddit page. Also look at r/CryptoCurrency. Don't believe everyone on there, but reading it every day will give you an idea of what coins are being hyped which right now is half the battle. Often times there is really good analysis on there as well. But you have to sift through the memes.

What kind of wallet do you guys use? I'm thinking of putting some money in a variety of coins. Maybe 2-3k total, just to try it out. I don't think there's any hardware wallet that stores all the coins I want to buy though.

So if I'm just gonna use a small amount of money, could I safely leave it on Binance (the exchange I plan to use) or should I look into something else? Also, at which place do you guys recommend starting out with buying some coins, since you need some already to trade there.

So the entire crypto market went 41x this year.

Can that trend continue? The world has 300 trillion in financial assets. Cryptos aren't event 1% of that yet.

If the crypto market does even half that growth this year we're looking at a total market cap of over 14 trillion.... .5% of global financial assets, roughly.
Crypto will be in the trillions at some point in time. There aren't even any mainstream apps, business sectors, branches of government, etc that utilize a blockchain yet. Wal-Mart, Amazon, Chase, etc don't allow the use of Bitcoin yet. Americans haven't been exposed to straightforward crypto investments...and on and on.

In a lot of ways we're still at the bottom. My guess is that this year they collectively hit $2-3 trillion with one alone being over $1 trillion.

I use Exodus wallet, which is pretty good for the more popular coins, but I'm waiting on a Ledger Nano S hardware wallet to show up here because I want to buy into some lesser known stuff. There's a list of all the shit it can hold on this page

Look into Ledger Nano S hardware wallet. You can also use it with MyEtherWallet.

i dont want to brag but original 1% of a bitcoin investment is now valued at almost 3% of a bitcoin, so im doing really well.

Ripple is still killing it.

I've also had NEO since September and it did absolutely nothing for months, but now it's finally going.

I put $100 into REQ right before it took off, so that looks like it has some potential. Maybe sell it in a year or so..

XRP could still be a huge bargain at this point. Any others?

Lots of hype around VEN. I just dumped 75% of my REQ profits into it. Their Thor system looks very rewarding.
