Bitcoin currency of the future?

Don’t overlook Ethos gents. Has shot up from $1 to almost $7 over last few weeks. If they achieve what they are aiming for, the sky is the limit on this one. $100 price target for year end.

Things could get more interesting with VeChain today if the below is legit..

At 8:00 on January 4, 2018, the founder of Vechain, Lu Yang, will make a breakthrough in technological transformation at the live-streaming "China-US Blockchain Broadcasting Group"

To be honest, this was a mistranslation. I would take this with a grain of salt. I do believe someone in the company is giving a class on the blockchain or something along those lines. Still, keep an eye on their roadmap. They’re looking to have a big year. Aside from the roadmap though, I look at things like total reddit subscribers and how often new people join. I look at their telegram and facebook and do the same thing. When you start seeing hundreds of people join up for one of those in a short amount of time, you know the hype train is building. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the price in the $20-30’s by EOY. Some are suggesting it may be even more.

My Coinbase tansaction has been pending for 5 hours now. Just trying to send some Ethereum to Binance.

This ever happen to anyone?

Transfers to another wallet (I also use binance) sometimes take hours.
It’s frustrating the hell out of me. I’m fairly new to all this but I’ve done about 10 transfers so far and none have taken more than 10 minutes. I also checked etherscan and there’s no info for it so Coinbase didn’t even send it out yet.

Yea I bought $500 worth of Ethos a few weeks ago and now its worth around $1,450. Tons of potential on that coin for 2018.

XRP could still be a huge bargain at this point. Any others?

I don't understand statements like this.

Ripple has a market cap that looks like this.

240 Million in January 2017
10 Billion in December 2017
140 Billion Today

If the price continued to accelerate the market cap of Ripple would surpass Amazon, Apple etc this year.

Does that make any sense? And that's the only way that Ripple could be a "huge bargain" is if it surpasses Amazon this year.

The run this last week has completely blown me away. Just find the new hot coin and get in and out.

ive officially tripled my oringial investment in 3 weeks. get at me cryptocrew!

also grabbed some ven last night with some of dat iota profit. feels good man.

While you're correct, the fact is that it has tremendous visibility now. It's been widely discussed and its applications make it appear more... Stable (perhaps) to the average reader. That combined with its price per token project an image of a bargain. I'm not implying that I believe it will increase in price because of itself - purely market reactions.

Anyway, I'll also state that I didn' buy any after it jumped up to like $2. Nor am I anyone to take advice from. Just running my mouth here as my only real.insight is public statements from people such as yourself - I do not study blockchain. Busy enough with JavaScript.

I just have a financial background. So I have sense when things are out of whack, I'm also not an expert in the blockchain / crypto arena so while I understand the usefulness and have read a book or two, I can't wrap my head around how the market cap of some coin with little implementation is approaching that of Amazon.

The relationship that Bitcoin has with altcoins is interesting as well. Almost any investment in Altcoins is a divestment in Bitcoin and vice versa... no shock that while the alt coins are taking off, Bitcoin is sludging thru mud.

But yes, primarily (as I've been doing) I just add caution to anyone signaling that something is a bargain when it's price is built purely on speculation. There's a ton of casual dumb money pumping this market up... and it will be those same people who get smashed if they get too greedy.

I agree. This thing is just going bonkers. Everyone got Ledger Nano’s or BTC/LTC/ETH for Xmas and want all in. I’m all bout it right now as I think we still have a couple of Trillion to go before a massive correction. And even then I don’t think that’ll pop the bubble. We might reach 5-6 before that happens. But really, it’s anyone’s guess. I will take a stab at saying there’s a good chance we could hit a hefty correction at 1 Trillion though. Due to the number being a big psychological step. You’ll have people yelling “It’s going to blow!”. This is the biggest game of wealth redistribution any of us in this game have ever seen in our lives. I have 1 more federal loan to pay off and I’m hoping VEN brings me to the promise land.

Here is a rule that I’ve been using: Always pull out profits for corrections. We’re bound to see a correction here sometime soon, so it’s always good to have cash on hand to buy back in. I’ve been using this technique and it’s treated me very well. Just an FYI.

Any level of prudence is a good idea. Greed will kill you, or as the adage goes "Pigs get slaughtered"

So yes, take profits when you can, reassess your position and don't kick yourself when you miss out on some gain by realizing profits at a comfortable exit point.

And remember you only truly have a gain when you've realized it, everything prior to that point can be erased in an instant. I agree with Swami, there's tons of potential and risk, but if you're realizing profits and have the capital on hand to jump on new waves of momentum then you're mitigating your risk.

I'm not arguing. You make sense. I just distill everything down from the collective points from people like you, Swami, Der Eiceland, rj144, etc and have done all right. Not up much since I did panic sell once and wiped out about $600, but I only put in 1600 so .. Whatever. I threw my remaining 200 in profit into REQ and Power Ledger, and am just waiting on another dip in LTC. So I basically treat it like a financial game with constantly moving targets.

Yea I bought $300 worth of tron at .03.

Now my original $300 is worth over $2,000 lol.

I made the rookie mistake of trying to up my position on Tron and lost big time. I had a grand when it was on 7 cents so could have made nearly tripled my money. However there is still 12 days before they actually annonce thier partnership so I bought back in. I reckon its going to at very least double again in that time.

Yea I'm reallyyy tempted to sell my gains and collect $1,700 profit from TRON, but I could see it going quite a bit higher over the next month. I'm also up very nicely in BQX and VeChain.

Crypto is like the new FarmVille. The Asians and Westerners take turns watering each other’s crops.

Where does everyone see Tron going? Currently sitting at $.19 and #9 on CMC. That coin probably made a lot of people filthy rich. A twitter follower was raving about it months ago, but I just wrote it off for the other big fish. Silly me.

Why LTC when you can make bank on VEN? Read up on their dealings with China. Watch the video I posted. My guess is, they’re going to have an insane year. But this is Crypto, 99% of the people who can’t control the markets are throwing darts in the dark hoping to hit that bullseye.
