Biscuits and gravy - are you a fan? or is it more of a southern cultural thing?

One of my all time favorite breakfast foods is biscuits and gravy. Hardees had the best ones but the Mcdonalds ones weren't bad either. I moved to California back in 2000 and went to a McDonalds one morning and ordered my favorite breakfast, (biscuits and gravy and a large sweet tea) only to be laughed at and told "we don't have that here. you're not in the south anymore, hun." lol it was kind of funny but I was surprised they didn't have it. No sweet tea either (sweet tea by my definition is just tea with fucking sugar in it), they just had raspberry tea which is nowhere near as good. Oh also Hardees out there were called Carls Jr., but that's beside the point.

Point is, biscuits and gravy are fucking terrific and if you don't like them you are a communist and a retard.

Biscuits and gravy is the shit no matter where you go.

Had no idea McDonalds served it though. Then again I'm not from the south so I'm not a racist, hillbilly, cousin fucker.

i mean, these pics dont look that great but . . . i eat nasty shit so could give it a try

ive heard from one girl that recently moved that finding sweet tea has been a pain, bc nobody has it, and when she asks for it people offer to bring her the cold tea and just dump sugar in it lmao. she got a bad case of the rustles @ this

I can't say "biscuits and gravy" without a southern drawl, and I'm Canadian.

Biscuits and gravy are real hit or miss for me... had it at cracker barrel and it was disgusting, get it from bob evans and it is amazing.

I'm from the south but I'm a skate punk anti hillbilly type of dude.

but they got that shit right when they invented Biscuits & Gravy. Best thing the south ever did imo

Biscuits and Gravy can be both the best and the worst meals based on, of course, two things. And these two things are both subjective..

1 - Biscuit
2 - Gravy

Now, this IS obvious, lets get that out of the way. But man, when they have my favorite combo, you simply CANNOT beat a good biscuits and gravy meal.

HUGE fan of buttery, flaky biscuits. Kind of like KFC-ish biscuits if they held together a little better. Don't like them gumming up to the roof of my mouth and shit, or dont like them being super crumbly and falling apart when you look at them.

The Gravy HAS to be a nice, THICK white gravy with plenty of milky, peppery flavor. Preferably sausage gravy for me (insert how I love sausage jokes here). Nice kind of spicy sausage, like Italian breakfast sausage from Jimmy Dean or something. Plain sausage ruins it for me. Has to be a well season, chunky, not small tiny pieces, but CHUNKY gravy.

Biscuits and Gravy SERIOUSLY rival a good steak meal to me, but I am a HUGE fan of breakfast and having breakfast for ANY meal of the day.

I am a biscuit and gravy snob. Not many places serve it the way I like, so I usually make it myself. I don't think I have a GOTO place, but my wife and I make it pretty damn well....

KFC's biscuits are amazing. You try to take one from the box and my mean mugging starts:

I think, back around the time of the founding fathers, they had certain systemic labor practices which were instrumental in building America. Got to give them credit for that even if eventually their way of organizing labor became unnecessary and the country moved past it.

I used to eat at Cracker Barrel a lot when I was a kid but haven't been there in decades. Honestly don't think I ever tried their biscuits and gravy.

I imagine its what flavorless gruel from an orphanage tastes like.

I even chopped up a few of my sausage links and mixed it in, and it was just barely edible.

You know what else I loved but I don't think they're around anymore? Shonie's Big Fat Yeast Rolls.

I heard people telling me ALL the time to eat B&G at Cracker Barrell. I fucking hated it.....
