Watched it this afternoon, and I was amazed how Bill wouldn't make it clear to her that he was talking about Radical Islamists. He looked like he just wanted to move on to the next subject.

Also, later in the episode Eva Longoria was talking about Mexican immigrant farmers only being paid a cent a pound of produce they pick, and how they're sexually abused... and Rula asks 'Are Muslims doing the sexual assaults?' It was way out of left field, and it showed that she wasn't keeping up with the topic. But if Maher really wanted to cream her, he couod have said 'Rape isn't exclusive to Muslims, honey, it's multicultural.'

He does, last week he said this is not his mission. He has other things to discuss but people keep on pulling him back on it.

Dude, most if not all of the colleges and universities that exist in North America were started by Christians. Most if not all hospitals were started in North America by Christians.

Most of the foreign aid workers in West Africa are Christians or are working for Christian organizations.

Christianity is largely responsible for the values of democracy and freedoms we experience in North America.

chances of getting kidnapped n held for ransom in cuba is far less likely than in some other latin american country.

You realize that Christianity has changed a lot over the years, right? Otherwise we'd still have crusades and the inquisition. I'd say it's more a matter of correlation, and Christanity becoming more secularised and reflecting changing moral values (and scientific advances) than anything else. As you can follow the bible and be a murderous bastard, or a pretty nice person, depending on what passages you follow.

I think lumping socialist/communist nations together is the issue. There's an enormous difference between the democratic socialist/mixed economy countries like they have in Scandinavia and true communist states. the thing is islam hasn't evolved.
in the christian 1600's in britain for instance, there was a lot in that society that you see these days in islam. especially in regards to women. it had nothing in common with a christian based society today.
