Bisping was always considered a gatekeeper and literally everybody wanted to fight him. He went in on short notice and caught an overconfident Rockhold and then got dropped twice by 46 year old, post trt ban Hendo. Still not a gimme fight or anything like that but let's be real, GSP wanted nothing to do With Silva, Weidman, Rockhold, Romero etc..

Very true. But it was good while it lasted. Bisping deserved it. He was a work horse for the UFC. Also, so did Hendo. The guy was a legend and we knew he was never going to have a crack or as good if a chance as he did against Bisping. It was also cool seeing that epic rematch. I didnt feel ripped off as an oldet fan.

To amswer your question honestly I feel like it was GSP amd he is my favourite fighter amd I consider him GOAT. Bisping was a big challenge for him and I appreciate his willingness to do it but I feel Jan is a bigger threat to Izzy that Bisping was to GSP at the time he fought Bisping.

Silva fans will stay mad forever. They dont like that his long losing streak and ped busts made most take him out of goat contention. They resent gsp for being too smart to ruin his legacy. They were waiting around for him to become a punching bag so they can say he was never any good. It never happened, and they just can't deal with it.

How would beating Woodley, who’d already lost to fighters GSP beat fairly easily, add to his legacy. As opposed to stepping up a division and beating the champ?

It was a smart move by GSP, and cemented his GOAT status. The fact people are still talking about this years down the track illustrates this.
