Big Rig is a real threat..

Many people thought he lost those fights. I believe that's what he meant.

Many people have also claimed that Nick Diaz had never lost a fight in the UFC up until he had fought GSP.

I don't take this kind of stuff too seriously.

i doubt gsp is underestimating big rig, which is why georges will probably win

I agree.
When you use Anderson has a comparison, you have to take notice that, unlike AS, GSP DOES NOT take his fights lightly, nor underestimates his opponents. And if you bring up Matt Serra, I don't think the problems was GSP. It was a one in a million thing. ;)

Degree to which Bigg Rigg is a threat to GSP's crown, is WAY overblown IMO. GSP is more than capable of ducking Hendrick's SINGLE threat, his left hand. I like both guys and will gladly eat my words if Hendrick wins. But I doubt that will be necessary.

Hendricks is only a threat if he can connect with that huge left.

Gsp beats him everywhere except the 1 punch ko power.

Powerfull? Yes. Technical? God no. Guy swings wildly.

I've said a billion times before, he has power, that's what he's got going for himself, but he loses in every single other department and most importantly, I highly doubt he'll be able to hang for 5 rounds, he has no cardio (at the very least compared to GSP).

His shot is early in the round blasting away, but all GSP has to do is weather the storm. Atleast thats what I've gathered.

That said, I hope it's a barn burner.

I do believe he is a huge threat, a huge threat that will end up getting dominated.

Only when he's winging that left is it really bad technically. When he has his hands up throwing his 1-2 or 1-3 or even his 2-3s pretty much anything that he uses in combos, its not that ugly. And the cardio thing is crazy, the pace he puts on early is why it seems like he gasses easy. GSP uses a lot of wrestling to get top control and that's all he does is control which if you've ever wrestled, doesn't take much energy as long as your in good position as far as keeping your hips over theirs and chest position. when GSP is pushed hard like in the Condit fight he will start to fade. On the feet GSP doesn't have the same one punch power so while he's trying to throw he always has to looking for the hands of Johny so that takes a lot of the odd techniques of GSP's away. I don't know IMO I think this is a much closer fight than people are giving it credit. Johny knows every trick in the book as far as wrestling Thanks to John Smith. so GSP has to make Johny respect his striking power and he also has to put himself in bad position to get johny to over commit for his take downs to work. Plus if johny takes GSP down and make his carry his 200lb frame that will start to work on GSP's cardio.

Yeah, but I could see how Kos could be argued to have own that fight. Condit lost (sadly) due to some weak takedowns that had condit beating johny up from the bottom and then getting back up, but a 5 rounder would have been awesome. I never saw the pierce fight but people say it a lot.

The man beat top contenders to earn his shot. He is dangerous.

This "beating johny up from the bottom" did not happen until the 3rd round, a round which almost everyone agrees that Condit won. Before that Condit was just escaping back to his feet, other than the one pass he had.

Hendricks landed virtually the same number of strikes and the same number of significant strikes as Condit in rounds 1 and 2 so if you or anyone want to say that Condit was striking Hendricks from the bottom then that only strengthens the case that Hendricks should win the decision because his strikes which were as many in number came standing and in more dominant positions.

I'm not seeing any problem here with Hendricks' win over Condit. If Condit is as great of a mixed martial artist as everyone seems to believe he is (including myself), then a win over him should be revered, no matter how it comes.

It would be foolish to underestimate Hendricks, he is hungry and confident, which can go a long way...I believe GSP will win BUT GSP has looked more vulnerable the last few fights so who knows.

Regardless even if Hendricks pulls the upset Rory Macdonald will beat him senseless....so the belt will stay at Tristar...close to GSP.

off topic
If GSP wins I too believe he should retire on top...hate on him all you want for his decisions but the dude is a legend and if you step back and look at his accomplishments its unreal what he has done.

GSP GSP GSP GSP!!!!!!!!!

GSP if you are reading this retire bro...retire on top...much love.

Lol at all the spelling nazis. Anyhoo "Bigg Rigg" is a threat to any ww. Power like his cannot be taken lightly.

If GSP loses he will be offered an immediate rematch. There is no reason to believe otherwise. He is the most consistent PPV moneymaker the UFC has ever had.
