Just as we saw with Weidman it's never a good thing to underestimate a hungry lion.. What I see in Big Rig is a fighter with wicked power great wrestling and and iron chin.. He's like Matt Hughes and Matt Serra rolled into one.. Explosive technical and powerful.. Great Bjj defense mixed with an iron chin.. If he can defend the takedown with good movement and uppercuts I think he can stifle the grinding and slippery style of GSP.. And catch him with his J-bomb.. He has a lot more tools to win than just wrestling is all I'm saying.

i doubt gsp is underestimating big rig, which is why georges will probably win

Let's see how his gas tank will look like.

Yeah that will most likely be his Achilles heel if GSP comes out to push him up against the cage that can pose a serious threat to Big Rig but then again Jonny has wicked punched from the clinch.. Time will tell.

I don't know man.

I see him gassing. If he doesn't quickly knock his opponents out (like Fitch and Kampmann), he always looks pretty mediocre like he did against Kos, Piece, and Condit.

EDIT- With that said, he can knock anyone out but I think GSP will be too well prepared for his left hand. That's really his main tool.

gsp will

Yeah that is a very big weakness GSP can expose he's going to have to try and not get pushed up against the cage or push him into deep waters.. The thing about Jonny though is you don't want to clinch with him he has great dirty boxing and I know GSP has been getting a little wreck less with his striking as we seen in the condit fight.

The difference is that GSP won't underestimate him. He won't come to the fight with his hands down. He won't taunt him and stick his chin out. GSP will open the book of MMA and read it to him for 5 rounds.

I don't know how someone can look "mediocre" in winning over Koscheck, Pierce and Condit. Those are all very high level fighters, especially in the context of when he had fought them. Therefore, any kind of win over them is a good win.

They were all competitive fights, but Hendricks won. Hendricks beats top 10 level fighters and does it with remarkable consistency. What other contender at WW can make that statement right now?

I agree,he is dangerous, but I think GSP will be very cautious early on,i think we will see another 50-45 for GSP.

Well Big Rigg isn't Dan Hardy (how in the name of God did he get a title shot=???), Koscheck, Fitch, or Diaz, so of course he stands a chance.

Many people thought he lost those fights. I believe that's what he meant.

GSP. He beat both Condit and Koscheck, was much more dominant over them than Hendricks was AND he did it for an additional two rounds each guy. Nobody would even suggest that either Koscheck or Condit were even close to winning the fights. However, there are many people who do believe that Hendricks lost both fights (not by a large amount, but still lost).

And for all his "Pedigree" in wrestling, and for all the hype people are trying to generate trying to make him out to be the biggest threat GSP has faced to date, he certainly didn't show it in the fights against Koscheck or Condit (didn't see the Pierce fight). He struggled with his wrestling, he didn't have any serious offense in his ground and pound and his go-to overhand punch wasn't having much effect.

That's what people mean by mediocre. Yeah, he won those fights, but they were close, many people contest the results and Hendricks performances weren't exactly indicitive of the level of fighter people are trying to make Hendricks out to be.
