Big Nog's legacy

Antonio-Rodrigo-Nogueira-mma-714511_550_825.jpg

I dunno if you know this but Nogueira was the PRIDE HW champion from 2001-2003. In that time span the UFC had 4 different UFC HW champions; Randy Couture, Josh Barnett, Ricco Rodriguez, and Tim Sylvia.... Big Nog defeated all 4 of his contemporaries.

so then his record under drug testing at any capacity whatsoever is what then? Is it even a positive win to loss ratio? (It isn’t. He has a losing record under drug tested fights)

that’s a nice fake ufc belt he won tho

Kiiyon Kimura does fantastic videos. The editing is smooth, and it's clear he does his research on the guys. His analysis is fair and respectful without being sycophantic.
Agree, way better than Mexican martial arts

Who are these "flavor of the month" ufc ha's??? Stipe? Francis? DC? All 3 beat him eather easily.

One of the greatest ever, a genuine legend. Some classic fights and great resume. Top 3 Heavyweight.

Wasn't post number 2? What's YOUR excuse?! lol.

Everything said and done he's firmly entrenched in the top 10 HWs of all time currently and there will always probably be an argument for it.

You left out Mir.

Ricco beat Nog. The Pride broadcast team and Nog himself knew it.

top 5 all time HW for sure

Hard to put him above JDS, Werdum, Stipe, DC, or Fedor (obviously)...only Cain's painfully short peime makes it debatable and Francis will permanently remove Nog from top 5 talk soon.

Reem has a better resume too tbh.

#2 HW GOAT is too strong of a claim for Big Nog imo

i think right now, big nog is #2, behind fedor of course. but his contenders for heavyweight goat are still fighting, so we'll see how their careers play out.

by the way, we may all know this, but his recovery from the near-death accident he had as a child is something to marvel over. it takes superhuman strength and dedication to come back from what he did.

Not enough respect is shown to this guy who could make a very strong case for #2 heavy weight goat status. Here is a reminder to how great he was for all those cashews who don't put enough respec on his name and think that some ufc flavor of the month hw is better.

Noguiera was more special than what his ufc career would suggest. Check it out, this came out yesterday. The narrators voice might be cringe but he is on point otherwise.

He was unfortunate to be in the Fedor Era, so he'll always be in Fedor's shadow.

He beat a lot of quality guys that Fedor didn't have to fight - Kharitonov, Barnett, prime Ricco Rodriguez (got a gift tho).

He's my favorite HW champion of all-time. Although, should BB win the title, I'll have a new favorite HW champ of all-time.

But yeah, Nog's the shiznit. When he defeated Mark Coleman(and really so many more) after taking the beating he did. I'm from Philly, and it was Rocky'esque. Nog had more heart than any HW ever. Period.

Get back to me when you return from fantasy land.

Yes me the guy who thinks one of the most durable fighters ever who was good at dragging people to deep waters is living in fantasy land for thinking he can beat a generic power puncher ngannou with 2 rounds of gas. You weirdos have zero critical thinking skills.

One of my favorites as I was getting into the sport. His heart and chin were unbelievable.

He has little legacy as he won’t be remembered much outside a small section of the already small pride cult/fandom

That's funny because in the past Dana has referred to Nog as the HW GOAT (I do not think Nog is the HW GOAT BTW or even #2, probably somewhere like #5). Yes, Dana really said that. But you're a 2021 account so maybe you just started following the sport, or your old account was banned for saying too many stupid things
