Literally every BJJ black belt I know and every expert video you pull up on YouTube is saying the opposite. But your 3 years experience probably outweighs the actual experts.

You mean the 1 Gracie video. I took BJJ from Carlos Gracie Jr. Yes some will call Gracie Bara a McDojo, but I took it from the school he owns and actually goes too. Everyone that taught has there black belt under him. He out ranks any "expert" you saw on you tube.

But what people say doesn't matter. Show me 1 UFC clip where a person was choked out from an over the chin choke.

What I don't understand is that if he really did go unconscious for a second, wouldn't his ENTIRE body have gone limp? Not just his arm? One limp arm is not enough evidence to prove he was unconscious, especially since Robbie himself explained why he did that and that he wasn't unconscious for a second.

Besides it doesn't even matter. Herb checked his arm and Robbie gave a thumbs up, THEN the fight was stopped.

The problem is that he gives the thumps up and then drops it again. Herb looked up quickly and when he looks back down the hand was back on the mat.

Not going to take this win from Ben...I knew that when he survived that onslaught...he will beat lawler via grappling...still Herb took that away from us. Robbie put down his hand back on the mat for balance...I'm not sure if you're ever roll before...

It’s possible Herb could’ve waited a second or two more to make sure, but he dove in when Lawler went out and Askren likely loosened his grip just enough for Robbie to regain consciousness.

It IS possible Lawler went out then came back real quick. That arm drop is pretty suspect.

With that being said, he did give a thumbs up.

This is a tricky situation, one of the trickiest ive seen.

For those of us who are unbiased, its not really clear if it was the right call or not.

when he moved his hand forward after the drop he wasn't touched yet, same choke same situation, when he moved in closer he did the check and Robbie passed it. not a debate man. You can guess hes out cause it fits your narrative or you can look at the actual facts

When Robbie was beating the shit out of Ben on the mat I thought it was almost worth stopping but then Ben woke up.
Its so hard to say for me.
I dont want a rematch but I honestly think besides Robbies arm flop a stoppage in his favour would be easier to handle.
On the other hand when the ref was looking Robbies arms flopped to the ground like he was asleep.
So who fucking knows.

You know, debating about the stoppage aside, the cool thing about this fight is that, while I went in respecting both Ben and Robbie, I now respect them - Ben for taking that beating and never faltering and Robbie for being so classy and professional after the fact - a hell of a lot more.

if you pay even more attention you´ll realize it´s ben that moves robbie´s body and therefore the hand seems to move forward
