I know there are some BB:US and Survivor fans on here and we had threads for the first few BB:Canada seasons, so is anyone watching the new season? It premiered last night.

You can watch episodes for free in Canada. In previous years it has been blocked in other countries but I'm sure you can figure out a way around that. Once the live feeds come online you can also watch them for free, again only in Canada. The feeds don't have the same rewind ability as the US feeds. I think After Dark is on SliceTV and I'll add a link to that later.

The house this year is Vegas themed and here is a preview:

The first twist is that the final two houseguests will be a guy and a girl from international version of Big Brother. The options are:

* Jase from US
* Tim from Australia
* Nikki from UK
* Veronica from Italy

You can vote on them at the globaltv link above untl this afternoon. The winners will be revealed on tonight's episode.

The second twist is that Phillipe and Nick are brothers who were cast without each other knowing but are being forced to play the game as one. They will alternate playing in HOH comps, only get one vote during evictions, if one gets evicted both leave, and if they win they share the prize.
 
I thought the first two seasons were excellent. They had enough little tweaks and twists to differentiate the show from the US version and had great casts (I felt like they were going for a hip younger brother vibe and really crushed it). In the third season they went completely overboard with the twists to the point where I don't really know if it was a good cast and the season was a mess.

So far I'm not loving this season. The international "stars" twist initially made me think that they couldn't find 16 good candidates for the show and the premiere did nothing to change my mind. It's obviously only been one episode with basically zero gameplay but my first reaction is that there aren't going to be very many great players this season, though that could make for some good TV of the trainwreck variety.

I also think that the brother twist could have been cool but making them play as one person is bullshit, especially since they have to share the grand prize which is only $100,000 and a $25,000 shopping spree at the Brick.

Finally, my winner pick right now is Mitch who you might recognize from the ASAPScience YouTube channel. At first glance he appears to be intelligent and level-headed with good social skills.
 
I have this DVR'd. Probably watch later today and get my ass back in this thread to report on what I think.

I caught a couple min last night when they were introducing one of the girls, a flight attendant/bartender. She seemed cute but the typical, I get what I want because I'm hot type of girl. I could be wrong but that's how she came across to me in that brief blurb that I saw.

Of the international people, I'm guessing Jase gets voted in since many Canadians likely have seen him on his season and on All-Stars, even though he didn't last too long.

And I'm guessing Nikki from the UK for a girl representative.

Are these international people actually vying for the top prize or are they there just to cause havoc?
 
My understanding is that the international people are there to play for the prize. It sucks that Jase will probably get voted in since he's known from BB:US since I've heard TIm was quite the character on his season. Also, apparently even though the viewers still voted people out they had some sort of nomination process in the house and Tim was one of the few people to use it strategically rather than just trying to keep his friends in the house and he ended up winning the season.
 
Watched the first episode, but haven't caught the eviction episode yet.

From the first episode though, that house is pretty nice. They always do it up pretty good for the Canada house. I think I heard before that the house is near the 401/Dixie area for those who live in T.O, on skymark avenue.

I think the girl who won hoh, Loveita, will do well in any endurance comps, she looked pretty fit in her promo vid and stated she used to be a gymnast.

Don't know the YouTube guy but now I wanna check out his science vids, sounds like he does pretty well on his channel.

I really hope the girl from the UK gets voted in, she's bound to ruffle some feathers based off that highlight vid they showed.

Too early to pick a front runner, but seems like this season has potential.
 
LOL at the female HOH nominating two women for the first eviction. It happens without fail that the women go after each other early in the game and then people wonder why women rarely win BB. Also loved this logic...

HOH: "I'm going to talk to everyone in the house so I can make it look like my nominations are the will of the house"

*make nominations*

Nominee: "I just want to find out why you told the other girl that she was going up but not me"
HOH: "I told her because she's not my target. You are my target because you are good at challenges".

So much for "will of the house". Derp.

Good eviction episode.

Is Paige the youngest to ever play, she's 19 and looks like she's 12.

Kinda glad they kept Kelsey. Gotta love HOH Loveita telling her, yep I want you out, the other girl is just a pawn. And then boom, of course she stays.

But after watching that POV contest, BB Can had the Go-Pros set up nicely to give great shots of Kelsey's boobs in that mermaid costume.

Couldn't find a pic of her in the comp but found this of the 2 girls on the couch before eviction.

Also, glad Jase wasn't voted in. He's probably devastated as he thinks the world loves him.

Love Tim's line of his strategy is usually to play dumb but he thinks Nikki has that angle covered. He's gonna be a good addition to the house.

Persian princess annoyed me in the first episode but this second one she looked good, easy on the eyes.
 
Bb canada fucks with the game too much. I recall last season having like 2 evictions caused directly by bb fucking with the rules. Completely taking away the players abilities to play for themselves.

I assume this year will be largely the same.

First 2 episodes were pretty meh.
 
finished first ep n really dont like the brother twist. would be so irritated if i were them.

just watching second ep now but i really want tim to get in. i seen him a bit on bb australia and he was fun as shit. but american guy will most likely get on as you said.
 
why do they hug so much on these shows. tbh id start feeling stupid doing all this hugging all the time. like why are people just randomly hugging each other at the pov meeting, people that arent even on the block are hugging each other. this is weird right? like its not just me being anti social lol

The host has specifically said that last season was the big twist season and this one will be more normal. The first two seasons did a good job.of having special tasks that were fun but didn't mess with the game too much.

I agree that last season was a mess.

And I agree about the brother twist sucking. If I was in their shoes I'd be pissed at having my chance at playing BB messed with. That said, they called this the Double Down twist and the theory online is that if they last long enough they will add a "split" twist (to continue the Blackjack theme) and allow them to play their own games.
 
BUMP!

This has been a pretty predictable week but I thought I'd bump the thread to get some more eyes on it. This week has been your standard "first HOH misses their target and thus becomes the target" week. If the house is smart they will vote out Sharry since she appears to be the better player and I think most people won't want to work with Loveita since she is now firmly in the minority.

Also, I'm tired already of hearing Sharry and Loveita complain about being on the block just because they nominated Kelsey last week. Of course that group is going to come after you, it's not personal it's the game! Dumbasses.

I hope Sharry stays because she seems like a gamer and it's always kinda boring when one group takes out the stronger players from another group. But that's why she should go, because she is probably a bigger threat long-term than Loveita (in Jared & Kelsey's alliance's eyes that is).
