So I'm throwing around the idea of selling off a couple of my rifles. Ideally, as I have done in the past, I'd find a private buyer to get the most money for it.

But, in the event I don't have someone I know willing to buy them, what's the next best route?

I'm sure if I go to a gun shop, I'll get hosed and get way under market value. I certainly don't want to deal with shady people on Craigslist.. and I'm not ever sure I can sell that way.

I'm familiar with gun broker, but I don't know how feasible that is for the average Joe to sell.

GunBroker and there is another site LIKE GunBroker but I can't remember the name right now.

I've browsed on Gun Broker before, do you need some sort of FFL to sell on there?

I'm kind of weary of shipping guns through the mail, how does that work?

^^^^ No ffl required and you'd ship to a licensed dealer.

I think Armslist is set up more for face-to-face transactions.

Maybe the classifieds section on a firearms message board.

For sure don't sell it to a shop, they won't give you a fair price at all which is fine, they are in business to make money and it might be the fastest way to do it but you will get hosed on the price.

Armslist is the Craigslist of firearms.

I'd recommend talking to any potential buyers on the phone for a long while to guage if they're shady, so you have no suspicions as to who you are doing business with.

Make sure whoever you sell it to isn't a gay Muslim, you should probably install Grindr on your phone so you can se rif whoever is trying to buy is a regular on Grindr.

Maybe try to trap them, tell them you think Isis is pretty cool, see if they agree with you.

Maybe I can try this too, I just want to avoid having to ship anything.

Yeah, I'll keep this in mind.

Shipping them depends on who you use . . . USPS, FedEx and UPS each have different "rules". I've listed a few things on Gunbroker, but never sold anything. Their fees are a little much IMO.

Armlist is free for non-FFLs. I haven't tried to sell on there since I got mine. I normally list my stuff on my Facebook page or use MeWe gun groups.

Most gun swap groups moved to that platform after Facebook kicked all of the groups out.

What are you selling? I may be interested, I've been keeping my eye open for a rifle for a while. I have business in Chicago on occasion and could come to you.
