It seems no training will help you in just a few days, obviously. I have read a few years back some studies, and I found them to be true, that if you squeeze / clench your fist with your free hand as hard as possible that the hand you are squeezing the gripper with will in turn be stronger. This is the same type of theory I have heard about from Kazmaier, Sammuelson, and other strength greats.
I'm beat and it is late, so sorry if my post is not so clear. There is definitely an odd link where the body balances out on both sides. Kaz talked about being in a cast on one leg, and he trained the hell out of the other leg. When the cast came off, not only had he not lost any muscle mass where the cast was, he gained some!
I don't think you will have any trouble hitting the number you mentioned on the dyno, but give what I mentioned a try.
