Best UFC videogame

I wanted to like the fire pro wrestling series so much, and maybe it's just me, but I thought the controls were dog shit. I even read up on and watched a couple Youtube tutorials. The way you can create content is awesome, but there needs to be more to a game than just playing paper dolls.

If you go into Fire Pro Wrestling wanting a good MMA game, you might be a bit disappointed.

It’s a pro wrestling game first and foremost. As long as you understand that and don’t expect deep MMA mechanics, it’ll be more enjoyable.

Fire Pro Wrestling Returns is one of my Top 5 favorite games of all time. I seriously created the entire UFC and WEC rosters and would just sim fights. Guys like Barnett, Fedor, Wanderlei Silva, Don Frye, Rampage, and other Pride stars were already in the game (under different names of course) as well as K-1 and Pancrase stars.

I thought i'd mention WMMA5 (World of Mixed Martial Arts 5) It's a janky home made game in the same veins as football manager. You have to book fighters, fix contracts, handle injuries and scandals. You could download a mod for it that had all the real life fighters, commentators, media outlets. It was fun.

Undisputed 2009 has the best physics. All the strikes actually land whereas Undisputed 3 and EA where strikes clumsily land with no weight.

The original on DC. Came out in 2000.

Only ever owned (and played for that matter) Undisputed 2009. I wish I had 3 though as I was a pretty big Pride fan so I would have been all about that Pride mode. However, I generally don’t care that much for sports video games, and the ufc games aren’t really an exception to that rule. The only sport video game I ever really liked was Blades of Steel for the NES

I'm down with Pro Wrestling games. I don't really watch wrestling anymore besides Wrestlemania once a year. I was a huge fan growing up though. I do however still like watching the documentaries and shoot interviews. Just the history of pro wrestling itself is something I find interesting. I also like the video games.

AEW apparently has a wrestling game in the works that uses the AKI engine that the N64 (WCW World Tour, WWF No Mercy, Virtual Pro Wrestling, etc...) and the Def Jam games had.

There is also a remake of the arcade game Wrestlefest called Retromania that is supposed to be dropping this month.

I’m still a big pro wrestling fan. Didn’t know that AEW was planning on releasing a new game. That’s going to be amazing, especially if it’s using AKI. My favorite AKI engine game was the Galactic Wrestling game in the Kinnikiman Universe. I still play that shit.

The next WWE Game they’re going to release doesn’t look like something that appeals to me, but I think them deciding to take a year off from the 2K series is a good thing. Also, it sounds like they’re going to be updating the game regularly with free content.

Crush was one of my favourites growing up. His rivalry with evil Doink in 1993 was fun shit.

Remember his finishing move was the Cranium Crush, I used to do that to my brother and cousins lol. That actually did hurt when applied correctly. I would like to see Usman do that to someone.

EA UFC 3, EA UFC 2 was pretty good too. But UFC Undisputed? Hard pass looking back on it

Striking was really simplified and in general, it was easier than EA UFC. It is more fluid - UFC Undisputed literally feels like you're a robot swinging hooks and kicks and you don't see any opponent reactions when getting hit. The submission system was okay? Pride Mode was also okay.. but nothing was different aside from a few rules.

Undisputed 3 in my opinion. I played the shit out of that game.

Customizable trunks and PRIDE mode were amazing.

UFC Undisputed 2009 was my fav.
I rotated the shit out of that PS3 controller.
Many disconnectors there.
Sub system was fun.
CAF were the best I ever seen, like Fedor and more

This is a great game just every turn takes so damn long to load. Stats are weird for alot of fighters too.
