Best sambo moves and takedowns in UFC?

Yes, that's true.

But the "Combat Sambo" subset is really just Russian MMA.

As far as I know (And I am very much involved in Judo....Well...I used to be...the Covid police say "No Judo for me" now.)...striking has never been a part of competition Judo. It IS in the Kodakan textbook....Maybe Kimura vs Gracie? "Judo" Gene vs "Boxer guy" in the first American MMA match (Choke out...10 seconds at most. The crowd had never seen a "Choke-out" so they thought they were being "worked" and rioted.)....ahhh...Good times.

BTW speaking of "Works"

I'm of the opinion that UFC "unspoken rules" now dictate there is no grappling allowed in the first two rounds MINIMUM. At least no extended grappling.

It is essentially kick-boxing with the odd take-down that leads to nothing now.

I've had the feeling it's been "worked" in some way for a while now.

And this, or some version of it, is, I belive a big part of it.

I like to think that Sambo is the MMA centric version of Judo. Like judo is the base style. Like how Hapkido is Koreans interpretation of MMA. Or how Shootfighting is the MMA style of Japanese Martial Arts.
