As a very young man I learned about being friend-zoned the hard way. I was totally in love with this chick so I became her friend just to be around her. When I finally worked up the courage to make my move, she rejected me.
The worst part is that she then started dating this loser who basically took her virginity by force.
Anyhoo, we lost touch, fast forward 20 years and she finds me online. Her husband kept cheating so she divorced him, now she's a single mom and wants to know if I'm single. I answer the question by going on and on about how great my wife is and how everything just worked out for us.
Never heard from her again.
It was petty. She didn't deserve to have it rubbed in her face like that. She never did anything wrong. If she didn't want me then she didn't want me. That's life.
But damn did it ever feel good.
I'm a bad person
I wouldn't say you're a bad person from that.
Ungracious perhaps.
A bad person would have banged and ghosted the single mom.
