Edit: I meant Lightweight LOL!!!

Been following the sport for 7 years. This is a toughy.

Overall I think B.J. held more significant victories and was actually 2-division champion.

Bj Penn for sure. He destroyed his opponents where as Benson had a lot of wars. Only real destruction Benson had was against Nate, but wow did he ever murk Nate.

BJ gave Machida a decent fight so I think he is overall the better light heavyweight.

RDA will be the greatest LW if he beats Alvarez and Khabib.

BJ. He had an aura about him that was amazing

I've went back and forth with this one a bit. I believe Benson fought and stayed on top in an era that was more competitive than BJ's, and will also likely retire with a much better looking record. Buuuuuttt BJ had two really great runs in the sport, and was putting away people in very impressive fashion, something that Benson never did. You also can't forget him moving up in weight to take out Matt Hughes. It's close, but I'll give the slight edge to BJ.

2 best

Frankie.

But BJ > Bendo due to BJ winning via stoppages and subs, and also not winning via questionable decisions.

I don't think Benson is even in the running. It's Frankie or BJ. If Frankie hadn't lost those bad decisions to Bendo there'd be no contest but even still I'd say Frankie. If RDA can keep his streak going though it'll be hard to deny him that title

Bendo:
Donald Cerrone (x3)
Frankie Edgar (1)
Josh Thomson
Giblert Melendez
Nate Diaz
Clay Guida

Not in the running?

You are lost.......you cant compare BJ and Bensons records BECAUSE 6 of BJ's losses were to much bigger opponents LIKE MACHIDA and BJ would fight anyone at any weight. You also can be sure he wasnt on roids.......the jury is still out on Benson in that area.
