Best gloves for wrist support ?

lace ups. there isnt a single pair of vecro gloves that compare to lace ups.

my personal favorites are casanovas. they make your wrist feel like cast.

i wouldnt be able to wear lace ups, we are constantly switching from hitting the pads to holding for our partner, it would take ages with lace ups

anyone rate the double strap on the hayabusa for wrist support ?

thinking of getting some kanpeki

Can't see why anyone would pay that much. You can almost get 2 pairs of some of the gloves mentioned in this thread for the same money.

they seem to be the only gloves where i can be sure i can get them on tight at the wrist, because of the design on the double strap

ive managed to find somewhere where i can get them for a bit more than the normal version, not double the price

if i could find something else which gave fantastic wrist support that i can do up myself id look at those

my wrists are only about 2 1/4" across, the opening on my Twins is huge and 9 times out of 10 i cant get the cuff to overlap to get the strap around tight

Combat Sports has a couple of models with a "DURA Lock" wrist which is basically the same thing as the Hayabusa. Also, I think the Ring to Cage "Safety Strap" is also the same sort of set up. There are a few other makers out there with basically the same style wrist as the Hayabusa. That said, I bought my Hayabusas on sale, and I really have no complaints with them at all.

tried the Hayabusa on, both the normal and Kanpeki, the hand compartment just isnt snug enough for me and my small hands :(

tried on loads of different gloves on Saturday and one of the things my trainer has said to me about my wrist issues is that i need to be making a proper fist all the time, and even though my Twins are 12+ months old, i cant make a proper fist in them, not without really really squeezing them hard

so, ive decided im gonna go for the Punchtown SPR Ti glove, i can make a full fist in those, and as long as i can get the straps around tight, they have pretty decent padding on the wrist strap too, i did like the Hayabusa wrist strap, and also the Boon gloves are very good i could get those on tightly around my wrist, and the Punchtown BXR II i liked aswell, i gave Sandee another shot but just didnt feel comfortable enough for me and the opening was just like my Twins really

one thing the mrs noticed was that a lot of these gloves i tried on, being long cuff, were not actually supporting my wrist where i get the pain, they were more supportive at the forearm, its a shame nobody has any Rival gloves on display in a shop i could have tried on cos they have 'conic design' at the wrist to support everything

fingers crossed making a better fist will sort me out

have you thought about taping your wrist before putting on your hand wraps? this should give you a little more protection while your wrist heal.

nope i hadnt, are their any guides on youtube about that ?

yeah I'm sure there are, but probably to tape your whole hand. for you you probably just need a few times around the wrist and it should help quite a bit. just make sure you don't cut off your circulation. give it a shot and let me know how it works for you. good luck bud!

Had big wrist problems late last year. Got some Rival elite bag gloves and my wrists have improved dramatically. Not 100% sure if it's due to the gloves, but since having them it's gotten much better. I was wrapping my hands up as best as possible, longest wraps I could find and still no good. Changed gloves, and bingo. Using shorter and thinner hand wraps now too.

Mate have you tried the D3o bag gloves yet? I know you like the Elites a lot.

No, but there's a review going on I think in a thread somewhere. There were no reviews on the d3o ones when I got my elites so I didn't want to buy something that I didn't know anything about.

I second Casanovas, I think they have the stiffest wrist for a Boxing Glove I ever had. However, if you were looking for a Sparring Glove, Casanovas might not be your go to thanks to the hard knuckle padding it has (till it's really broken-in at least).

Total necro but since we're talking about it. The Rival strap system & padding design on the RSv/b11/guerrero bag gloves are amazing for wrist support. There's a pad above the wrist that, with the strap tightened, feels like my hand and wrist are locked into the correct alignment. I prefer it above the Hayabusa T3, Fairtex BGV9 & 1, Cleto Reyes training, and lace-ups with lace & loop. I've only tried those gloves and not tried the laceups using only the lace.

I would definetly recomend Mikardo boxing gloves.... They have the best Wrist support u have seen... www.mikardo.com is the website. They also have really good Thai / Kick Pads with a non rip material .. hope this helps

I really think you're Hammad Sheikh, the Procurement Manager / Director of Mikardo...
