Best fighters with worst records

Both Diaz brothers, Thiago Alves, Melvin Guillard (or whats left of him).

Michael Johnson is 17-13 with two very good wins over Barboza and Poirier.

Also, virtually any old school guy that thought fighting way after their prime was a good idea.

Randleman, Hunt, Randy, BJ, Minowa, Saku, Yoshida,

Hendo of course.

Never won a UFC title, best roster of fighters faced win or lose.

Shogun Rua
Chael P Sonnen
Takanori Gomi
Jens Pulver
Ian McCall

It doesn't mean they are the best, just that their record doesnt reflect their legacy.

I'll start:

Honestly your post could / the thread. BJ is the best example. Some other good ones I guess would be guys like couture, frank mir, and to an extent shogun. He is 9-9 in the UFC but that doesn't reflect his legacy at all.

Sakuraba. Though Wanderlei owned him, he tore up the Gracie family and a lot of others. He even fought Cro Cop.

He hung around way too long and now his record looks terrible.
