Best bourbon recommendation?

I like the flavour of bourbon, i am into sweet, vanilla/custard/toffee flavours and this is so easy to sip even with 43% vol

Jesus, this burbon is great. Better than Jack imo and drinking it straight, sweet toffee, chocolate and vanilla favours.
The Woodford Reserve? It’s far superior to Jack imo, I think Jack is total trash. Awful stuff lol. Woodford is nice.

Just happened upon a bottle of Eagle Rare and it’s solid, but crazy how this stuff goes for 10x suggested retail in the secondary.

My favorite

My suggestion would be to skip the bourbon and switch to single malt scotch instead.
I agree about the Scotch part. Although I've found some great blends so I'm not particular about it being single malt.

But good Scotch is so awesome that it's ruined other types of liquor for me. Every time I drink bourbon I find myself sitting there wishing it was a good Scotch.

This one I just bought, anyone drink this?

It's pretty decent imo.

Yeah it’s ridiculous. Last bottle I got was $38.99, which is a steal imo. But I wouldn’t pay more than $50 or so for it.

If I want a 10 year aged, 90 proofer, Russell’s 10 is readily available and is $31.99 in my neck of the woods.

Since this post of mine is old, I wanted to update it.

Regular Jack Daniels is still trash—but they’ve been putting out some amazing stuff otherwise. The Jack Daniels 10 Year, 12 Year, and Barrel Proof Rye are fantastic.

Funny you mentioned it. Last Whiskey I had a little sip recently was a Single Barrel - 100 Proof Travelers Edition which was was pretty decent and I'd fancy me a bottle of that in the future.

Four Roses is my go to cheap bottle for Bourbon.

Oh yeah! That one is—was?—only available in airports I think. Is that where you bought it? I’ve never had the chance to try it, but 100
proof is my perfect proof. Love whiskey at that proof.

@BFoe That makes sense of course. One of my mates got himself that bottle recently and it indeed was at some airport where he bought it. Also a bit of a Whiskey Bro and he thought I'd fancy me to try that one - he was right. Haven't looked much into these "special" Jack editions but like I said this one was really nice.

Edit: Was one of these

If you want to go full redneck either Old-Grandad or Wild Turkey.
Otherwise, Woodford Reserve.

Jim Beam 7 Year

Even the bourbon snobs that hate Jim Beam really enjoy it. Early Times Bottled in Bond is another good one but it’s slightly harder to find.

I mean I’d recommend more expensive stuff but really, these are what you need.

I want to try Jack's bonded that came out in the last year or so. I agree with you that regular Jack isn't very good. I just find it weak and watery. But I'd be curious to try it at 100 proof.
