If we include former fighters its GSP hands down. He beat several of the most sucessfull MMA wrestlers (Hughes, Fitch, Kos, Trigg, Sherk).

To take things another direction what about sub fighters? Maia most obviously has beaten loads of wrestlers.

What people overlook is that being a good wrestler is NOT the same as being able to avoid the ground whilst hurting an opponent standing. A wrestler is used to countering aggressive takedown attempts with his own takedowns, obviously he can't do that if his aim is to avoid the ground altogether.

Gsp - first guy to really beat wrestlers at a time when wrestlingg dominance was at it's highest

Pettis - uses submissions and striking to counter wrestling. Very high level finishes

Aldo- really brilliant take down defense and can't be held down very long at all

And ofcourse the older generation chuck machida etc
