I voted DeNiro but Tom Hanks is a photo finish second place IMO.

Road to Perdition, The Green Mile, Forrest Gump and Saving Private Ryan are some of the best movies of all time and he killed it in all of those. Especially Gump. I'm so glad they never fucked that movie up with a sequel.

All 5 on your list are great actors though.

I love me some De Niro (who doesn't) but come on, he's great in only a very limited range.

This was my thought. I know the majority of people instinctively consider him the pinnacle of acting, but when has he ever shown true fear or softness of emotion?

De Niro is obviously the "coolest" one and has done the coolest most bad ass roles so most people in this predominantely male site would pick him.

However if you dont think Tom Hanks is the best actor out of that list, you really dont know much about acting
