Besides England having bad, bland, uninspired cuisine, or at least has the reputation, what other nation or region in Europe has bland, uninspired food?

What nation or region is underrated, and does not get praised enough? I hear Finland has pretty boring food.

Anyone ever been to Scotland, or Ireland? How is there food? Is it like England? I just watched the Delicious Destination episode for Scottish Highlands.

My kind of thread.

I guess the higher you go above the equatorial line, the blander cuisine gets.

As a white guy I will admit food would suck if the world was only white people

the darker the caucasian, the better the cuisine.

I'm French and I love french cuisine. BUT, I know that it got to that excellence level because of the kings era and their chefs, and the culture of looking for the best products in every areas of the country PLUS influence from around the world.

It's definitely not my favourite though.

The nordic countries have pretty meh food.

Spices (mostly from India) used to be ridiculously expensive, so regular people were mainly cooking with Salt & local Herbs. Not too mention meat on the table used to be a very rare occurance too, since the aristocracy owned the lands and hunting on that land or taking other food was illegal and got you the death penalty.
In fact, the normal citizenry used to be so dirt poor, even Salt was rarely used.

Whats the country again that has meat in a tube? Yeah fuck those people.

Not only is their food bad, but an England dime is like a Boise two.

English food takes a dump on German food it's all pickled vegetables and boiled meat.

Every country has attractive people, every country has ugly people. For every 1 ugly English person, there are 10+ ugly Americans.

In this thread: guys who think food is bland unless it gives them diarrhea

Nah they got some extra funky action going on in that country.. They are like the Australia of Europe only instead of all the convicts being thrown on an island that's where Europe threw all its ugly people.

"People of Wal-Mart" is far more nauseating than "people of Asda" would be.

When I lived in the US I have to admit there were some BEAUTIFUL women. But there were more fat woman and some on the most morbidly obese unattractive women I’ve ever seen.

I honestly didn’t know people could get that big until I moved to the US. I’ll take London women thanks on average thanks ...but I’d take Californian weather.

One of the factors of colonization rush was getting to India via sea. Or an alternative to India which was south east asia for spices.

Honestly yeah I kind of agree, I mean theres plenty of excellent food in the major cities and some hotels outside them but the general standard of food as a whole isn't great, more akin to the way England used to be 20+ years ago.

These days I would say England is probably one of the easiest places to get consistently good food, the crap stuff now tends to be either very cheap or in situations where the market is captive like motorway services(and even they are much improved). Italy would be the other obvious choice there, perhaps doesn't scale the heights of the very best French food but more consistent, especially in the countryside.
